In the first half of the video I thought the presenter didn't know that not all Muslims are that outraged about cartoons and such things. Later I found out he did, Muslims don't protest people of their own religion doing outrageous things, but they do protest non-Muslims who do.
It's obvious that something has to be done about the radicals. Apparently the "mild" majority of Muslims are not going to do anything about it.
And therefore I agree with the presenter in this video.
It's not Islam that's killing children and cutting off people's heads, it's the idiotic die-hard extremists that are taking advantage of the religion.
Because of their parents/school/social environment they have been taught a radical version of the religion.
They don't take advantage of it, they think their version of the Islam is the true one.
If they just took advantage of it to justify their actions, they wouldn't kill themselves for 30 or so virgins.
The radicals really believe in the Sharia and their version of the Islam.
Host could not possibly be more wrong on everything he's said
the radio host is just yelling at him
he goes all childish on "Will"
what a faggot host
Boortz is a bit of a douche, but he's a correct douche.
He's right, and when you're right, you're right.
I love when political correctness is absent, because you eliminate a lot of bullshit and can get right into actual problems
A top rated youtube comment:
"Best thing i've heard in a loong loong time, now, we need a war to end islamization in the world, US has begun, we, europe needs to do the same,* first, civil war in EVERY european country that is occupied by muslim, then ´, when your country is clensed, help your neighbour and so on, until the evil cult of islam is all GONE!!!"
Someone's never heard of the Yugoslav wars. :downsbravo:
The host states he understands that the Muslim extremists don't make up the majority of Islam, but he still says Islam is the problem and not fanaticism.
It's not Islam that's killing children and cutting off people's heads, it's the idiotic die-hard extremists that are taking advantage of the religion.
The arguement he is making is that the average muslim person does not express outrage at such vile acts, and yet flip a shit when someone draws a crude caricature of Mohammed
The world would be much better off with 0 religion... I don't take sides with either Muslim, nor talk show host.
Also... Can Facepunch please stop getting on the topic of religion so often? It's giving me a headache.
Religion makes people stupid. I agree that the world would be a lot better without religion.
Many people here bash the host for thinking the whole Muslim population is at fault for the few terrorist actions, but what the host means is that the Muslims should be more against the terrorists.
I agree with him, I rarely see Muslims who criticize the terrorists, I'm not saying they don't care, I'm just saying that they aren't showing it.
Muslims should stop getting angry when people draw Mohammed and first be angry of people taking their religion as an excuse and terrorize with this excuse, without these people, nobody would draw Mohammed in an insulting way and the Muslims won't have anything to be angry about.
So Muslims: Start acting against terrorists, they're the real enemy, not some people who draw cartoons.
Wow, this guy is a narrow minded prick.
To be honest, The same applies to most other religions. Christianity, Buddhism and the rest. It goes with our mentality, until something fundamental to what we believe in is attacked, we will not speak out against it. For example, christianity has committed thousands of atrocities in the past in the name of god, But we don't hear christians talking aboutt it. Same applies to other religions. All i am saying is that the host is being incredibly derogatory and ignoring the basic functioning of a human mind. the reason we complain about what the Muslims are doing is because they directly effect us, our soldiers and so forth.
So i believe the host is wrong, he is overly opinionated and has completely closed his mind off to any suggestion that his crusade against Islam is not completely justified.
The radio host makes me rage.
There's a big difference between extremists and Muslims.
Grow up, host.
Says me, an atheist, pacifist and Gandhi-ist.

Despite the fact that the world was build from religion, so no if there was no religion the world would be shit.

The world was built by religious people maybe, that doesn't mean the religion did anything to help it.

That's exactly the point the radio host is making. The moderate muslims need to distance themselves more from the extremists of their religion.
Imagine how people would feel about moderate christians if they just went "Meh" when you asked of their opinion of WBC, that's what's happening here.
A minority of muslims are insane, and the majority who are decent intelligent educated people need to say that this is not something they endorse.
A lot of people do, but until you get a really big group of people to come out and openly say that what these people are doing has nothing to do with them, and that they despise what they're doing in the name of their religion, it just looks like they don't really mind it, or even endorse it.
This is the point the radio host is making. The moderates are hurting their own religion by letting the extremists represent them.

A lot of ideas and inventions came from religious people no doubt. But from religion? No.
Did Thomas Edison have God in mind when he created the lightbulb?
Did Henry Gray think of God when he dissected humans for the advancement of medical science?
No they did not. Scientific curiosity is what drove them. Not superstition.
You mention important people from the 17th century and onward, from then on I don't think anyone invented things and the likes "in the name of god", but before then, in the middle and classical ages, religion was really important for technological progress. For example in the early middle ages all the knowledge in Europe was pretty much kept in monasteries and was studied by scholars and monks there, that's due to Charlamagne's reforms which gave a lot of power to these monasteries, and helped a lot with literacy and stuff.

This is true, but their motives for that were extremely selfish and had to do with spreading and translating scripture. While the result of this was no doubt for the better, the original purpose wasn't particularly altruistic.
The radio host?
He's an absolutely idiot. The attacks he listed were all politically motivated and has nothing to do with Islam at all.
9/11 for example, he uses 9/11 as an example of Islamic terror. However, Defense Trial Exhibit 941 from the trial United States v. Zacarias Moussaoui Criminal No. 01-455-A states the following:
[release]Sheikh Mohammed said that the purpose of the attack on the Twin Towers was to "wake the American people up." Sheikh Mohammed said that if the target would have been strictly military or government, the American people would not focus on the atrocities that America is committing by supporting Israel against the Palestinian people and America's self-serving foreign policy that corrupts Arab governments and leads to further exploitation of the Arab/Muslim peoples.[/release]
This had nothing to do with the religion of Islam at all; this is a political attack.
Israel, a prime example of politically motivated violence - this fucking idiot thinks that attacks orchestrated by the Palestinians are only because they're Muslim.
Muslims - not only CAIR but all the groups - have been condemning terrorism for years. Some people just don't want to hear it.

Holy shit, what a fucking baby.
Argue like a civilized being instead of screaming like an upset schoolgirl.
starpluck, you don't understand. He wasn't angry about Muslims because the terrorists who were behind 9/11 and all other terrorist actions he mentioned were Muslims, he was angry because according to him, Muslims never complain about Muslim extremists terrorists and their actions which they commit, according to themselves, in the name of Islam, but get upset over a guy showing their prophet in bad light or people drawing cartoons of their prophet.
I thought so too but your articles made me change my mind, still I think that Muslims are exaggerating the whole draw-Mohammed-day thing.

Were Thomas Edison's and Henry Gray's motives "unselfish"? I doubt they did it purely "for the good of mankind". I can imagine most inventors at these times were mostly curious and wanted to know more about the field they were researching. Doing it for the good of mankind was probably just a secondary benefit.
I'm just assuming though.

Oh no, I'm not saying that they were doing this out of the goodness of their hearts, I believe it was a mixture of that, curiosity and most likely a little greed (especially in Edison's case)
