Anyone else think a dev this talented is being wasted on a game about fighting rabbits? I think he should be doing something bigger.
let's see him finish this game first, then he can worry about something bigger
Anyone else think a dev this talented is being wasted on a game about fighting rabbits? I think he should be doing something bigger.
not really considering if he can put all these features into this then he can use the same stuff for other games.
Anyone else think a dev this talented is being wasted on a game about fighting rabbits? I think he should be doing something bigger.
I think him having to work on it all himself is whats causing him to be so innovative.
These guys certainly don't Notch around.
I think him having to work on it all himself is whats causing him to be so innovative.
It's actually not all by himself, there's a couple other people on the team as well. for example this guy is doing the art assets:
this is actually quite impressive. love it!
I've held off preordering for a while because I don't want to create Notch 2.0 with a game that shows so much more promise. But once I get some money I should consider it.
There's 166 of these videos. 166. How can you even think this will be a notch 2.0?
i find it funny that you guys use Notch as an insult. go look up the history of a guy called Data who worked on Cortex Command. now there's an effective insult.
i find it funny that you guys use Notch as an insult. go look up the history of a guy called Data who worked on Cortex Command. now there's an effective insult.
I bought CC an age ago. Yeah, Data is shit beyond belief, but it's not as good as an insult because nobody knows who he is (no surprise)
fuck me for missing the NS2 bundled with overgrowth
Awesome. Tried it, the knife throwing is incredibly OP right now, but it's incredibly fun.
i find it funny that you guys use Notch as an insult. go look up the history of a guy called Data who worked on Cortex Command. now there's an effective insult.
So glad I got that in the bundle. I would NOT have bought it separately.
So glad I got that in the bundle. I would NOT have bought it separately.
I bought it separately and despite it being unfinished, i still felt like I got my money's worth from the amount of fun I had with it.
Anyone else think they could make a awesome Dragonball Z game on this engine? Imagine flying around on namek searching for high powerlevels and dragonballs and fighting (like bid for power/earth special forces mods).
Looks very impressive, but as others have said it really feels like paying for a tech demo at this point. I'll need some actual structure set up before I go about paying for it. I do think it's great that a developer is detailing their work step-by-step with the community, though. Most developers are extremely secretive; I'm eager to see if this guy turns out to be successful.

This game looks really interesting. Think I'm going to wait until beta or release or something though. I have enough games occupying my time right now.
i find it funny that you guys use Notch as an insult. go look up the history of a guy called Data who worked on Cortex Command. now there's an effective insult.
Oh god, Data, fuck Data. Didn't he say he used all the money he got on his personal gun collection?
Oh god, Data, fuck Data. Didn't he say he used all the money he got on his personal gun collection?
yup he took all the money he received as cortex command donations, and blew it on ammo and AK knockoffs guy's a scumbag [editline]24th January 2012[/editline]
The melee combat in it is unreal. is there a planned release date? or are they just going to keep adding cool shit in and just release it when they feel it's become a full game?
One day I'll spend my 30 bucks on this, it looks like its developing up so well
is there a planned release date? or are they just going to keep adding cool shit in and just release it when they feel it's become a full game?
Right now it just seems they're gonna keep adding shit. Hopefully one of those things are online multiplayer.
He's already successful. He's got a fuckload of purchases.
Since they are the same guys doing the Humble Bundles they must be swimming in money by now.
why are they fighting on top of giant salami pillars
It's one of the alpha levels designed to test player jumping, it is basically big red hexes sticking out of the ground you can parkour off.
Since they are the same guys doing the Humble Bundles they must be swimming in money by now.
And unlike notch, they haven't mysteriously cut off half of their development after they hit it big.
i find it funny that you guys use Notch as an insult. go look up the history of a guy called Data who worked on Cortex Command. now there's an effective insult.
While he is a pretty big dick of a developer he has actually stepped up his game lately http://devlog.datarealms.com/
