You can't have lived with, or even remotely been in proximity of [many] dogs if you assume that all dogs are calm. We are either speaking of a very small bull sorta dog, or a puppy of one of the larger ones, not quite well versed in these kinds of dogs, but I remember a couple owning dogs just that size, and a few of them were speeding around like sanic with speedhacks just like this dog.
Added note: They mostly were like that when they really had to pee or take a crap, though.
My dog back at home was the exact opposite, she would calmly stroll down the path we walked and sniff at stuff, then suddenly go "shit this gotta be a hot dog dude, better take a shit" or whatever and completely seize up and stiffen while squeezing out a few, then the last log barely gets to touch the ground and then shes storming around and barking like I was the bin lorry guy or something.
