Regading the sex characteristics, I don't really care about what people use to identify themselves, I only care if its true that a man can become a woman if he wishes so. feelings and what is the most efficient way of characterization are of no concern to me. I would love for someone to explain to me how Gender dysphoria is not a mental illness.

The majority of the medical and psychological community is in consensus on this. The medically and scientifically supported treatment for dysphoria is transition. Transition does not "feed into" the illness, it mitigates or eliminates the symptoms of dysphoria.

GID does not impede me from holding conversations with others, forming relationships, understanding numbers, staying emotionally stable, etc. Most of those that have GID and suffer from the aforementioned issues tend to be paired with other disorders that are completely unrelated.

In some countries you can't even claim you might be depressed without someone telling you "Nah, it's fine, walk it off", because of people like this. And it's sad, that we have no good way to deal with gender dysphoria, except current ones. But I fully understand what you mean, because my FtM friend had to live at my house for a week, because his parents were furious with diagnosis (which was already hard as fuck to do, because Russia). I highly doubt someone can get a knee-jerk reaction like this in my cases.
