Kid smashes $230,000 McLaren windshield with a skateboard

Sorta satisfying to watch.
On a side note, I really hope the next generation of smartphones does away with vertical cam.
sorry but I really have no sympathy for the driver. not that it's ok for anyone to smash a windshield over this kind of situation, but the driver was a fool for expecting anything other than pure spite from a skateboarding teenager who just got cut off and honked at while crossing the road by a car that has no other purpose than to display your wealth in glorious neon orange fashion. if he hadn't honked after clearly trying to run a stop sign with moving pedestrians I doubt the kid would have done anything to be perfectly honest.
'its okay to blatantly disrespect those with money simply because they have it'
yes
real justice would be if the nearby crowd surrounded the car so that it couldn't leave
Detaining someone like that is a good way to give them a legal reason to run you over. There's been a few cases where someone feared for their life and ran over some pedestrians to get away. Not that a sports car would do too well offroading over a bunch of bodies, but there's still no good reason to provoke someone into making a stupid decision because they are panicked.
I'm still waiting for someone to get a window smashed and seriously injure/kill a few people at a BLM road closure. It's not that I want it to happen, I just believe that it's inevitable given the increasingly aggressive and provocative tactics.
Am I the only one who thinks both them are assholes?
Its an asshole thing to run a stop sign and almost run someone over, and that kid really did not have to smash an expensive windshield.
poor judgement from both parties
honestly karma if you're going to endanger people's lives and get mad at them when you could have seriously injured or killed them because a few seconds of your time is so much more important than other people's lives and local law
There's laws against skateboarding/cycling across marked crosswalks for incredibly good reasons such as idiots who love to treat a pedestrian crosswalk as something which they're pretty much trying to commit suicide by pretty much jumping in front of a moving car on a bicycle. If you're crossing traffic, you walk your bike. If you're moving with traffic, you use your lane/bike lane/sidewalk on your bike.
Not to mention the kid isn't inside of a marked crosswalk and is jaywalking technically anyways, had he simply walked across the street in the marked crosswalk a couple feet to his left it would have been entirely the cars fault as well as the situation having never happened anyways. Not saying the driver isn't a dumbass for running a stop sign and not even attempting to slow and roll it safely though.
Yep. I think everyone here can generally agree that both parties involved here were jackasses. I see no sense getting into who was the bigger one. They both could have prevented this situation entirely.

One of these is worse than the other, and judging from the driver's reaction he doesn't feel sorry for what he did nor does he seem to be even willing to admit that he made a mistake. Meeting some sort of opposition like this shouldn't hurt, maybe next time he'll be more careful driving around town, as he should be.
Also, I don't see how the price of the car is relevant to the kid being an asshole. If it were the windshield of a shitty budget car he smashed, would it be less grave? The cost of one's car is usually in line with their income, so the financial impact would be the same either way.
Has anyone ever replaced their MP4-12C windshield from a rock hitting it causing a crack? I received a quote and found it rather high, $3,000 installed...? Is that normal?
Just thought i'd mention this
*Runs stop light*
*Honks horn*
Fucking moron that driver.

Well for one you are assuming a whole heck of a lot.
Do we even know who was driving or if he even owns the car? So we see the passenger chase after the kid and the driver then speeds off, and you can divine that he would not admit that he made a mistake?
There are also other ways to make the guy know he fucked up without property damage, you cant justify smashing the windshield.
This might be the worst filmed video I have ever seen in my life, we didn't see the smash or the crowds reactions
This might be the worst filmed video I have ever seen in my life, we didn't see the smash or the crowds reactions
Because he wasn't even filming the smash? He was filming the sunset. I don't see how you can expect him to predict that some guy would smash some car's window.
Well for one you are assuming a whole heck of a lot.

That's not a very extreme assumption to make. People usually drive their own vehicle.
So we see the passenger chase after the kid and the driver then speeds off, and you can divine that he would not admit that he made a mistake?
Well I'd say with him honking at the kid and yelling "suck my dick" it's quite improbable that he would admit being in the wrong...
There are also other ways to make the guy know he fucked up without property damage, you cant justify smashing the windshield.
Not that I justify smashing the windshield, but what other ways are you referring to? Calling the cops?
Driver's an ass, but in hindsight the kid could've handled it better instead of smashing the windscreen with his board and the legal consequences of that are on him. That said, I really don't feel any sympathy for the driver.
anyone who can afford the car in the first place probably doesn't care too much about this tbh
I'm pretty sure a $250,000 punch to the face hurts even if you're Bill Gates
The cost of one's car is usually in line with their income, so the financial impact would be the same either way.
What world do you live in? Speak to anyone who owns a super car and you will likely find that they spent a long time saving up for one and it is a gigantic chunk of their net assets. Having somebody smash the windscreen of that car would have just as big of an impact as somebody painting an entire face of your house.
But yeah, that kid deserves to get fucked up on some level in the same way that I would if some stranger were to kick my dog in public in the face for barking.
dumbass driver

Pretty much the only thing you can do is yell at the guy and report him to the police.
As for what was said when he stopped, if it even was the driver who said it, do you really think he meant it? People shout all sorts of things they dont mean when things like this happen.

That goes for pretty much most cars though? It's always a substantial part of one's assets.
But yeah, that kid deserves to get fucked up on some level in the same way that I would if some stranger were to kick my dog in public in the face for barking.
Except barking does not physically endager anyone, nor are windshields living beings. That's a terrible comparison.

He's not going to have to buy an entire new car, only replace the windshield.

Is it reasonable to expect him to get fined once reported? It's not like an officer saw the scene himself.
If not, then how can we expect the driver not to pull the same shit again ?
As for what was said when he stopped, if it even was the driver who said it, do you really think he meant it? People shout all sorts of things they dont mean when things like this happen.
I'm pretty sure the driver said it considering he honked just before that.
And it doesn't seem likely to me that a guy would go from "suck my dick" to "I made a mistake, I apologize".

If there is video proof or a witness willing to testify in court then it would be reasonable for the guy to get fined. If he pulls this kind of thing too many times and it gets reported then it will become a problem for him, he could get his license suspended.
Penalties for pedestrian endangerment can involve immediate license suspension, and considering that he ran a stop sign too any ruling is likely to be unfavorable.

Eh, not bad. My friend had the windshield of his skoda crack. Cost over 1000 euro
"The windshield was completely shattered."
Uhh, no, it clearly was not
[editline]20th July 2016[/editline]
Running a stop sign and then honking at the kid he almost hit and yelling at him like he's not the dickhead. What a cock
regardless of how shattered it is, the whole thing needs to be replaced. not like you can cut and patch or bang the dents out like you can with a fender or hood or something
Almost running a stop sign is not justification for smashing someone elses car windscreen in lmao, hope the kid finds that out soon enough
I just wanna know whether he got away or fucking died
Yep. I think everyone here can generally agree that both parties involved here were jackasses. I see no sense getting into who was the bigger one. They both could have prevented this situation entirely.
idk the mclaren driver not being an entitled law-breaking fuckwit probably could have prevented the situation by not trying to run the stop sign, then becoming an even bigger fuckwit by honking his horn and talking shit.
The dude smashing his windshield obviously isn't the right response but I don't think he was going around town looking for a fight.

Barking isn't against the law. Running a stop sign is.
Abusing animals is not the same as abusing a windshield.
real justice would be if the nearby crowd surrounded the car so that it couldn't leave
a just punishment for a dangerously impatient driver
that said, i'll shed no tears for the rich prick getting his shit bashed in; it's the only other punishment that he'll actually care about
Yes, sounds like a really appropriate response to someone who rolled through a stop sign.
Plus you guys are all assuming he is rich and owns the car or something. It could have been a fucking rental for all we know.
Yes, sounds like a really appropriate response to someone who rolled through a stop sign.
Breaking the law is okay as long as you do it really slowly :downs:
Yes, sounds like a really appropriate response to someone who rolled through a stop sign.

Then he shouldn't drive like an asshole if it's not his car.

Im pretty sure it's not a rental because it has personal license plates, when most supercar rental places will have the dealership plates
Also, even though the driver was a dick, how do we know he was the one who said suck my dick? It feels like it was actually the skateboarder who said suck my dick, because there was only like a fifth of a second delay between one of them saying that and the skateboard hitting the windshield, and to make an impact like that he'd have to of swung it like a baseball bat. I don't think in the span of .2 seconds, you can react, pick up the skateboard, and then swing it like a baseball bat. Just my thoughts though.
