I guess i am one of the few who enjoyed the Star Wars prequel movies as to how they were. I feel Ep 4 5 and 6 were the current real Star Wars movies but i find the others pretty amusing to watch with the exception of the romance between Anakin and Padme.
ive seen this. it still has all the terrible romance between ANGRY ANAKINNN and padme but it's not bad if you wanna get a not insufferable glimpse of the prequels the only saving grace of 1-3 is ewan mcgregor and the darth maul fight at least the ending wasn't atrocious though
Sure they didn't cut anything out? I mean I remember this shit as being pretty bad, but they've been off to Naboo for 5 minutes and they're already kissing. They haven't even really talked about anything. Anakin is so awkward too, I mean the delivery at 27:50 is terrible (not to mention everything he says from the moment they meet).

What a shame.
Adding the planet names in was just bizarre.
The Opening Crawl looked horrible
The prequels should have never been made.
Jar Jar Binks is the most important character in all of the prequels, why would you cut him out?

Damn, I haven't watched these movies in FOREVER. I loved the originals much more as a kid, still do. There's some good stuff about the prequels but sadly it just...is so subpar. The acting (not looking at actors like Ewan McGregor, Christopher Lee, Samuel Jackson) and the CGI all feel so bland and lifeless. I feel like there could have been much more and hopefully with the new movie coming out soon it will pull through and be everything the prequels weren't. There's few good things, I love the designs of creatures, people, etc. in the films and the few good actors, but that's about all sadly.

Its not that hard to understand.

Even after all the worst shit is cut out, it's still fucking bad. You can't polish a turd. Let alone three.
how dare they remove that hair it was the key to everything
Ah, yes. Darth Pubeus, the most powerful Sith lord there was.
Even after all the worst shit is cut out, it's still fucking bad. You can't polish a turd. Let alone three.
they're not good movies ruined by a couple of bad characters, some weird shots and a few sub-par scenes. they're bad movies from the ground up
why does blood come flying out of maul when he's sliced i still don't get it god damnit.
People just want a version of Star Wars that is as close to the original as possible. All the stupid stuff Lucas added I can live without, but that doesn't mean the clean-up was all bad.
I dunno about that specific hair but a lot of the little imperfections are characteristic of the way Star Wars special effects were done. If your goal is to restore the original special effects and do away with the shitty 90s/2000s CGI, the imperfections are just part of it. [editline]14th December 2015[/editline]
they're not good movies ruined by a couple of bad characters, some weird shots and a few sub-par scenes. they're bad movies from the ground up
It annoys me to watch the prequels mainly because I can see there were lots of good ideas but they're just not held together very well at all. Episode 3 was the strongest of the prequels, it wasn't too bad, but 1 and 2 has so many places where you can tell the actors are just uncomfortable with their lines, Lucas' directing, and probably the fact that the entire set was a green screen - half the time they're just monologuing with no practical scenery, having to choreograph every single step. As high as the originals set the bar for special effects, the prequels really fall short. There are some seriously amateur errors with the CGI and parts where the actors look like they were added with 3 minutes of photoshop. It can make it hard to stay immersed in even the stronger scenes. I think if you're wanting to watch the prequels again, the anti-cheese edits are probably the best way to do it. A lot of prequel edits are built around a joke: "want to improve the PT? Drop episode 1!" This one isn't. EP1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfQBdRcgizc EP2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDlT59hqqtk EP3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14tMHjDkKLA Watched 1 & 2 last night and thought they were pretty solid edits. It may take some conscious effort to get used to the Jar Jar edits but it's overall much better.

Just too many shit ones. CGI touch ups are brilliant. Matte paintings replaced with CGI backdrops. Dogfights improved. The colour improvements in general. Removing hairs and boom mics. I am ALL for those sort of changes. They're great. Cloud City and space sequences look SO much nicer on the Blu Ray than ever before. But ugly CGI they've forced in like that Jabba scene and the PS2-style aliens added into scenes. I don't want a straight up theatrical version. But a version with no added scenes or aliens, but still maintaining the colour and CGI corrections would be lovely.

Considering a theatrical version of the movies is completely unavailable otherwise.
