Music was used as a form of communication in the olden days, plus the fact that it's a part of culture, it's pretty important. I'd be willing to say music is an important thing. No matter how bad it is, it is still what got the world to where it is today. A form of communication.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that when Buckley refers to music, he's referring to shit on the top 40. You know, the generic pop that gets played on the radio ad naseum. Because all of his music related videos, are, you guessed it, are about top 40 songs. That type of music is a commodity, there's no real heart or soul that went into something like Wrecking ball. You can have fun listening to it, and enjoying it, but at the end of the day, a lot of pop like that, it is a commodity. It's a commodity with influence. And it doesn't matter if its fiction, it still influences your audience. It still shows your thoughts and ideas. It's you giving the OK to the subject matter.

I was thinking, someone who is more aptly comparable to Buckley's Character is Maddox. You know, self absorbed angry humor from a character. And I find both of them amusing due to their angry sort of humor.
