Watched End of Watch the other day, definitely one of my favourite movies. Cannot wait for this either.
tank porn
Oh I know that that was possible and that it did happen. It's honestly kinda hard telling what angle the M4A3E8 was at though, in one of the shots the M4A3E8 is obstructed by smoke and in the other it isn't the from Tiger's viewpoint. From I can tell, I just feel like that should've penetrated but eh. [editline]26th August 2014[/editline] Also fun fact, the Sherman in the movie is actually a M4A2E8 (a model that was not actually used by the US Army) instead of a M4A3E8. Not that it matters here, I mean visually there's no real difference.
In that scene, the Sherman is facing forward to the tiger but it's clear that when the Tiger fire, the round misses and strikes the ground next to the Sherman.
looks like war movie cliche the movie but looks good
Nobody should go into this expecting a 100% historically accurate and phenominal story. I'm just excited for this because they're actually using tanks for their proper roles, instead of dressing up a T-34-85 to look like something its clearly not. a tank is a tank nerd

congrats Trunk Monkay, your autistic area of expertise is tanks
congrats Trunk Monkay, your autistic area of expertise is tanks
god forbid I be interested in something.
Every time I see this trailer, I always wait for this song to play.
wow what nerds knowing a lot about something, its not like people also have pedantic and satisfying interests in sports or art or music or hell just about anything else on this planet we like tanks and it brings us satisfaction to 1. talk about them and 2. see movies or media with actual historical vehicles
god forbid I be interested in something.
god forbid I make a joke and have it fly over your head
god forbid I make a joke and have it fly over your head
Since when is being an ass a joke? Even if you explicitly stated you were joking, I'd still think you're an ass.
god forbid I make a joke and have it fly over your head
Insulting someone and backpedaling is usually bad forum etiquette.

You gotta cut films of that time a lot of slack with regards to vehicle accuracy. The allies won the war and pretty much every single Allied tank was scrapped less than 10 years later, in 1977 A bridge too far could only get their hands on 5 working Sherman tanks, and even that was a stretch, the rest are all wooden prefabs and it cost an absolute fortune to make, it was only possible because the film had an astronomical budget for the time and it shows, they even built real working Horsa Gliders and there was and is None of them anywhere in the world after the war, let alone 30 years later. And even then they still used Sodding Pattons for the Axis. In the film PATTON they needed endless columns of tanks to fill the screen, even today they could not do it without CGI, at the time? they'd have about 5 Shermans tops. And maybe at a push a single Axis tank, most likely a Refurb T/34 Tiger. When it comes to AXIS tanks, good luck. Germany lost the war so most tanks were destroyed in battle, VERY few made it into a museum or private collectors, they sadly got scrapped. The real thing just didn't exist (well they did but they had no way of knowing where or how to find any, let alone having the money or the resources to rent and fix up, or get any substantial numbers) Simply put they had to compromise, hence paint the Big Patton Grey and the Small Chaffee Green and you got Tigers and Shermans, Paint the M3 halftrack grey or yellow and you got an SDKFZ, the average audience member of the time would be none the wiser nor care for the that matter. Anyway all that aside, I'm an extra in this film as a German soldier, I die though.
Anyway all that aside, I'm an extra in this film as a German soldier, I die though.
You were in Patton or the film in the OP?
god forbid I make a joke and have it fly over your head
Nothing goes over my head. My reflexes are too fast, I will catch it.
You were in Patton or the film in the OP?
Realised that post was a little muddled, draw backs of posting from a phone i guess. I was / am in Fury, no speaking role or anything. Just a redshirt in the background for a few of the fighting scenes. Was a fun couple of days running around a muddy feild and being dead.
Cool! A new world war 2 movie! Decent cast too, looking forward to this
Glorious Basterds
a tank is a tank nerd
Joke
congrats Trunk Monkay, your autistic area of expertise is tanks
Not a joke.
Anyway all that aside, I'm an extra in this film as a German soldier, I die though.
Did you die a hero?
Did you die a hero?
Got the Iron cross presented to me by Steiner himself.
M'ask you sumtin
Movie looks pretty fucking cheesy and bad
Movie looks pretty fucking cheesy and bad
yeah but at least they use historically accurate tanks which 90% of the people watching the movie won't even know / give a shit about, right?
If that doesn't kill it in the movie, then that's some grade A hollywood bullshit At least the Tiger looks like a Tiger. I can't even tell the difference. Even Saving Private Ryan didn't get it that close
is that pussy bitch gonna be the new Upham? [editline]29th August 2014[/editline] Also Pitt's hair is so fucking great man holy shit.
