As a WoW player, I'd only see this if I got a mount or a pet or something cosmetic with my ticket.
I don't know a single WoW/Warcraft player that is looking forward to this movie which is honestly a really bad sign.
I'm guessing that's because your average Warcraft/WoW player wouldn't have played the two original Warcraft games, let alone read the books and actually have an understanding of how it all began. So they just went with what everyone is familiar with: a floating Dalaran, orcs that invade through Outland (not even Draenor; place already seems completely ruined in the trailers), regular human footmen, high elves...
Draenor was already renamed Outland when the Orcs invaded, it just became even-more-Outlandish when it also got blown to bits. That's the entire premise of the invasion to begin with - Draenor was dying and became the Outlands.

I always figured that Outland only became, well, Outland after the orcs returned to open more portals to other worlds after their defeat during the Second War.

One thing I'm curious about though, is whether we'll hear anything about the draenei. So far it seems they've been completely written out.
The worse thing about the film being it's set in an alternative timeline AKA - we couldn't be fucked to be consistent with Warcraft lore and wanted a floating Dalaran.
i think they might as well use all the cool stuff since chances are this is going to be the only cinematic adaptation of warcraft for a while, unless it's somehow a massive success
Draenor was already renamed Outland when the Orcs invaded
No it wasn't. In Beyond the Dark Portal it was a wasteland but it was always referred to as Draenor. It didn't become Outland until Ner'Zhul blew it up.
The armor is CG as well, superimposed over mocap suits. Pretty much everything in the movie is digital, other than the human actor's faces.
You're talking out of your ass.
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm at the theater watching this trailer and I can tell you the CGI is really fucking nice to watch. There were some spots that I couldn't distinguish between live and CGI and other stuff you could tell it was the base actor under makeup with some CGI added on to make the character. Dont knock it until you see the trailer in theaters.

Plus the footage is from about 3 months ago and they still have another 4 months before release. Just like TFA and everything else, the CGI isn't final.
Honestly looks a lot better than what one would expect of a Warcraft movie, and compared to most video game movies they seem to have put in some effort to make it rather appealing to your average fantasy movie-goer.
I really don't think it deserves a lot of the hate people have garnered towards it. It seems to have potential.
