Pretty sure it's a lot less lethal than a gun though. I'd take a stab over a gun shot any day of the week.
Are you dumb? A single gunshot that isn't fatal would be a huge surge of pain with some internal bleeding. But a stab is usually right in the gut and since he had a collectors knife it was probably really lethal. A stab in the gut usually ruptures all of your major organs in one instance man.
started making trouble in the neighborhood.
I heard he got in one little fight and his mom got scared.
So what do you want the officer to do, go after the man with a knife of his own? Lethal force is met with lethal force. Bows and they walk away equal opponents. And the suspect is cleared of all charges and goes home. And watches some pimp my ride.
Not trying to defend the retard but I think I know why he stayed in the bus holding his knife out still. My guess is that he thinks no matter what he'll get shot so he was scared and was "defending" himself. At the same time i'd rather get shot being kind and cooperative rather than "YOU'RE A FUCKIN PUSSY" Pfft, like the officer is doing it personally. What a moronic kid, a lot of balls at the same time so fucking stupid it makes the amount of balls he has USELESS.
You guys talk as if they had to get on the bus to pepper spray/rubber bullet/tase him. He's trapped in that bus.
So shooting legs and arms is too difficult for police in northern america? Because i don't know why they shot so many times, he only had knife anyways and didn't seem like he was about to charge or anything. Here in Finland we had some guy going towards the cops armed to the teeth with knives and a starter pistol and the police just shot him to the legs and arrested him.
There's a huge risk of hitting a major artery in the legs.
Still a lot less risky than shooting somebody in the chest/torso.
Why the fuck they shot him in the first place when they have a taser is beyond me, the guy was still on the bus so its not like they were in any immediate danger.
The fact that theyre still telling him to drop the knife makes me think they didn't actually shoot him in a vital part. Why the fuck they shot him in the first place when they had a taser is beyond me.
Because tasers have an effective range of fucking nothing.
4.5m isnt "fucking nothing", they were all crowding around closer than that. And thats the range of a civilian taser, police ones are alot better.
Why did they shoot with a gun? they could have used the taser first to disable him.
Why is this rated dumb? My thoughts exactly.
Would it really have been that hard to just get one person to try and tase him and have another sit behind him ready to fire at the guy if the taser didn't work? my automerge :<
4.5m isnt "fucking nothing", they were all crowding around closer than that. He was only in the doorway, and not fully, for about 20 seconds while they were warning him to drop it. Then he moved away.

They could have tried less lethal weapons but instead they chose to straight up execute him on the spot.
The only question hear is. why didn't he drop the knife?
Well when tasers can shoot right through a bus out of stab range, call me. And that being said, if someones got a knife the logical thing would be to move away from the doorway not crowd around it like idiots, the guys not going anywhere.
my understanding is that cops are sort of trained to be paranoid as fuck during training there's this mandatory video they show where a cop tells a dude he's pulling over not to reach into his car while pointing a gun at him. the dude does it anyway and the cop doesn't shoot, the guy pulls out a rifle, and shoots him before getting away
should have gone with the 10 officers with riot shields approach i.e. this video
The police decided the best course of action was to kill him and so they did. You counter lethal weapons with lethal weapons, you don't go to extreme circumstances to save a dangerous person or else you end up like the guy in the video. That's all there really is to it. The kid could've saved himself and he didn't.
though i guess shooting him would be the best approach in a "gun saturated" society.

I'm tired of people defending morons like this. Lethal force was met with lethal force. If you do not want to get shot by the police, then do not wield a knife and refuse to drop it when ordered to. Simple as that. So much Monday morning quarterbacking going on in this thread, it's amazing all of these experts in law enforcement we have on this forum.
Pretty sure it's a lot less lethal than a gun though. I'd take a stab over a gun shot any day of the week.
stab, twist. done. RIP you
I dont see why they didn't taze him instead of dropping him. It's not like he was charging at the cops or something. He was resisting arrest and happend to carry a knife
Turns out my Grade 9 art teacher was one of the witnesses. It still boggles my mind as to why you would pull out a knife against someone with a gun, especially in this situation.
Why did they shoot with a gun? they could have used the taser first to disable him.
That's a great idea if you want to get stabbed.
