It's weird that in X's freshman interview he's clearly doing something different during the cypher at 0:39,1:01,2:03 etc. How do they choose what bit to use? I never noticed this was even a thing on the other ones.

They do the cypher like 6 times with the same beat and they pick and choose which verse from each cypher to use on the video.
i swear to god that was the edgiest thing ive ever seen from someone
x is straight up one of the hottest up and comers on the radar atm. hes stupid versatile and really gives a shit about the art.
carti and ugly god are pretty whack overall but they have some bars, madeintyo is a pleasant surprise too, kid can hold a dank flow

last years freshman class will always be top tier though, denzel curry is a fucking monster
This is the whackest shit I have ever read lol. X isn't shit but a scumbag cunt who beat up his pregnant girlfriend. The dude cannot rap and even just as a person he's a piece of shit, for the life of me I cannot understand how anybody fucks with him. The fact that anybody would actually call him "versatile" or a hot up-and-comer is crazy lmao

XXX's only good performance was getting knocked out on stage
fuck xxxtentacion. people tout the whole "omg so versatile" thing, which doesn't matter if it's all shit.
Versatility is such a buzzword in the rap game now. Real versatility is people like Gambino, that were able to 180 from a vibe rap album to one of the best R&B projects I've heard this decade. Real versatility is how Kendrick was able to move from a West Coast old-school rap style to an album that encompassed African-American musical talents from funk to jazz, and all between. Real versatility is how Kanye was able to make each and every single album of his unique, from the soul-rap of College Dropout, to the synthpop of 808's, to the industrial rap of Yeezus.
XXX's "versatility" is a mish-mash of grated sounds and switch-up of already bad flows.
