My unpopular opinion: Minecraft's a good game. Development kinda got weird and I haven't played it in like a year or two, but I like it. There's nothing inherently wrong with it.
So I hope no one actually hates vinny for playing it. It can be very fun when played with friends in survival or creative to chill out.

what's wrong with it is that it hasn't changed at all for the past 5 years, it's the same game with no major additions to it

thats how most games are, just because it becomes popular doesnt mean it needs to suddenly get huge game changing patches. Its more a problem if they come out with new $60 versions of it that hardly change anything like some franchises.

Base game is still good enough. You survive, and you build contraptions and structures.
The fact that it hasn't changed doesnt make it bad. Id be pissed if a product randomly changed from something i liked into something i didnt.
Besides, they established the core gameplay well enough that it took off and got popular. Just recently they released a combat patch to make the combat vetter, and im pretty sure that was one of the actual major niggles of the game. The only other annoyance is the lack of modding api, and even then ive been out of the loop for so long that good ol jeb might of already implemented it.

I've had my share of fun in minecraft. Yeeeeears back, I would spend [I]days[/I] working on redstone circuitry to neat effects. I love how [I]crafty[/I] some of it gets, like using pistons to create vertical AND comparators in order to run wires in compact side-by-side bit bundles with the comparator.

twitch takes this way further, since its basically pretending that you're close friends with the streamer and can interact with them directly. Probably targeting the largest demographic of people not having real friends as well. The only place it would probably be worse is on porn streams
