Vinny's art corners are getting... ridinkulous.
A shiny video appeared!
Alex is suspended from Vinesauce for a year since he solicited money, Please read here.
It’s uncommon that the Vinesauce team feels the need to produce an official statement, but in this case we find it both right and necessary in order to help set the record straight on a matter that has caused concerns within our community. In the past week, we have heard objections about one of our streamers, Alex (GeePM), having taken liberties in soliciting donations from the community for personal gain. After looking into this situation, we have come to the conclusion that he acted outside of the standards upheld by the Vinesauce team. On January 18th, Alex put out a call to ask for assistance from the community at large with a personal financial situation. The people that donated were very generous and helpful in his time of need; however, Alex’s request was made without any communication with the rest of the team. Alex purchased a large quantity of personal items before asking for help, most of which he displayed publically. After receiving many complaints from the community, we decided to look into this situation more carefully and have confirmed with Alex that his spending was indulgent. As a result, he wasn’t in a position to ask for help in the way he did. Soliciting donations for personal need is strongly against the values of the Vinesauce team. We would have been happy to work with Alex privately about his finances, but we had not been consulted. To be clear, stream tips, bits and subs are all fine ways of supporting a streamer, and should always be the choice of the community member. After talking with Alex a great deal in the past few days, we truly believe that this wasn't a scheme or plot to steal money from the community. He has been apologetic, both privately and publically, and understands what he did wrong. We have encouraged him to ask us for help with budgeting if he needs it. We support Alex and we want him to succeed. We have also encouraged him to seek outside employment if he continues having financial difficulty. It can take years for some to develop a full-time streaming career, and may never happen for others; it's not a thing to be taken for granted. After consideration from all team members, it has been decided that Alex be suspended from the team for one year. Our decision is final and Alex has agreed that it is for the best. The details are still being hammered out, but during this time, he will not be associated with the Vinesauce name. As a collective of streamers, we recognize the autonomy of each person on our team. However, when it comes to issues that involve collecting donations for personal gain, we expect a level of communication that did not occur here. Many members of the community wanted a more severe punishment, but we also empathize with his situation, and feel this is the best way to go. We also understand that the most vocal people are not always the most objective or level-headed. After a year, we will check back with Alex and he will then have the possibility of returning to the team. We believe in Alex, and having spoken with him about his future, we know he will grow and learn much during this time. This does not change the fact that he is a veteran streamer and has continued to create enjoyable content for many people; his actions simply did not reflect well on the team and our events, such as our summer charity stream. Years ago, a community precedent was established when one of our streamers embarked on a personal donation drive without our consent. We later discovered that the need for these donations was exaggerated. Ultimately, they were removed from the team for distorting the truth and disrespecting the community. Alex’s situation drew parallels to this previous incident; had we been aware of his plight, we would have discouraged him from soliciting donations. However, as stated earlier, we don’t believe that Alex’s intent was malicious, which is why this resulted in a suspension. Alex will continue streaming on his channel and we will still be there for him if he needs us. If you have any problems or concerns about this, email us at teamvinesauce@gmail.com. If you have any specific inquiries for Alex, email him at contactgeepm@gmail.com. We thank you, the Vinesauce community, for your continued support and love. We're sorry if this incident has upset you but we are doing our best to make things right. From all of us, let's move forward from this together and continue to focus on the reason why we stream in the first place: because it's fun. -The Vinesauce Team

Hi everyone. First off, I wanted to thank you guys and the Vinesauce team for being so patient throughout this whole issue. I made a mistake or or to be frank, I screwed up. I betrayed not only the team's trust, but the community’s. I understand why the decision was made and I feel no ill-will towards the team. I whole-heartedly agree this suspension is fair. I have reflected upon my actions. my character, and who I am as a person, and the team have helped me grow and better myself during this time. If you wish to continue to support me I ask you support this decision as well. I will continue streaming independently of Vinesauce and the team support me in my self sustaining endeavor. Over the next year I hope to continue to improve myself, rebuild the trust and relationship that was broken along the way. Nothing about how I stream will change, and moving forward I hope in time we can move past this, grow stronger and I can continue to make you smile along the way. Warmest Regards, Alex
the Vinesauce crew is doing an impromptu ama on their discord, you better get in fast if you want to ask anything.
Good, people who exploit what little e-fame they have are assholes.
Good, people who exploit what little e-fame they have are assholes.
or maybe you could read the context and learn why he solicited the money, and learn that he's fine with the punishment and believes it's for the best. Don't be "that guy"
Nowhere did I say I disagreed with how the situation was dealt with. I'm all for giving him a second chance a year from now. All I'm stating is my opinion, because I think begging for donations when you have another way of dealing with monetary issues is one of the worst things you can do as a Youtuber/Streamer. Also you can do something completely awful and then realize it was a mistake yaknow? [editline]25th January 2017[/editline]
or maybe you could read the context
I did and my opinion still holds.
Except it's not even exploitative in the slightest?
Oh, so that's what a mature disagreement and handling of an issue looks like. Its been years since i've seen such non-drama drama.
Well yeah this is how things should be handled. Any level headed people will understand that there was no ill will behind his actions, and that it didnt seem wrong to him at the time. It's not wrong to set him right and punish him for breach of moral, but there's also no reason to go overboard.
So can we still post GeePM streams/highlights here, even if he isn't going to be part of the crew for a while?

Also, GOD HAND IS BACK AFTER 5 MONTHS
Is it wrong that I'm sort of frustrated with the way GeePM's problems were dealt with? Maybe it's just because I'm ridiculously forgiving, but I feel like the year ban, and sort of complete disassociation with the team is sort of uncalled for. I can really understand where GeePM was when he asked for those donations, and he immediately felt uncomfortable with it without anyone even bringing it up and tried to make it right, right off the bat. I don't know. It just sort of rubs me the wrong way with how even though he hasn't been a streamer for that long, he's been a pretty close friend to several of the streamers for a long while now and they're so quick to push him out of view, for what I can only imagine is to not "tarnish" the Vinesauce image. I also sort of wish it wasn't made as much of a big deal and blown so out of proportion, because outside of those issues, I've seen a lot of hostility between GeePM's followers, and the general Vinesauce followers, and it's just kind of depressing and awful to see.

It seems a bit odd to me, but I guess if GeePM was ok with the decision, then so be it.
so question, has vinny really never played earthbound? or is he just pretending
so question, has vinny really never played earthbound? or is he just pretending
Is it really surprising? Most people never have :v:
Is it really surprising? Most people never have :v:
We can solve this problem easily by graphically revamping and rereleasing the franchise, just like Final Fantasy! there is another worldline where vinny left the BK at 99.9 completion that is a terrible world
So is it just me or is GPM still listed as part of the Vinesauce team on their website?
So is it just me or is GPM still listed as part of the Vinesauce team on their website?
They'll probably need a little bit of time to change the code on the webside.
So is it just me or is GPM still listed as part of the Vinesauce team on their website?
Nobody ever keeps up with the website (or their TeeSpring page...) for some reason. It's always full of foreign spambots. It's so bad I haven't bothered with it for a long time now, except for today to see if anythings changed. It hasn't. :v:
And also the forums are also kinda dead as well. The team is pretty much all around Discord now.
