So yeah, interesting trick. If you pause and unpause it seems to unmute the audio. Good system, Twitch. You have to do that for every 30 minute segment but, you know, it works.

I've been using this to watch Twitch streams in MPC.
Im trying to pull the last streams from past broadcast by this trick: http://api.justin.tv/api/broadcast/by_archive/past_broadcast_number_here.json (http://api.justin.tv/api/broadcast/by_archive/past_broadcast_number_here.json) -- you can find the past broadcast number in the url like 555198870 here: http://www.twitch.tv/vinesauce/b/555198870 then put it in the given link like this http://api.justin.tv/api/broadcast/by_archive/555198870.json every stream has 30 +/- minutes long .flv file, for example a 2 hour stream is cut in 5 parts, so you got to look for every "video_file_url" line with the link to the flv download to get the whole stream. another tip: every link link looks like this with .flv at the end: http://store145.media97.justin.tv/archives/2014-8-6/live_user_vinesauce_1407344587.flv (http://store145.media97.justin.tv/archives/2014-8-6/live_user_vinesauce_1407344587.flv) hope it helps for anyone who wants to archive it onto youtube
Someone should make a browser/downloader for this with a proper GUI.
if they end up changing, I doubt they'll go with ustream. their prices are absolutely insaaane.
I've downloaded both kings quests from rev and joels hardcore friday's f-zero stream already, if anyone wants a favorite stream (from the past month) downloaded and uploaded (i have fast download/upload), then pm me with a past broadcast link (like http://www.twitch.tv/vinesauce/b/555198870). I will respond and download them tommorrow in eta 10 hours +/- from now. I will then upload them on youtube or other videosite (pm me with details).
I really hope Vinesauce move away from Twitch. If they and some other big streaming names move on, then hopefully Twitch might realise that literally nobody wanted this shit and reverse it.

Streamers have discussed it and the VODs issue isn't a deal breaker at this point. If Twitch force the content matching on live streams it will be a different story though.

(At least if it keeps going on). Otherwise, it sounds easy enough to make an userscript, at least. If it's still working tomorrow I may give it a shot.
There goes my plans to eventually watch the entire charity stream.
There goes my plans to eventually watch the entire charity stream.
You can still download the .flv files. They're not muted.

When I get home I will try and write something to download every vinesauce VOD. I'm not sure how far I will come before 1TB is filled up though.
When I get home I will try and write something to download every vinesauce VOD. I'm not sure how far I will come before 1TB is filled up though.
Try to get Joel's Half-Life streams, I'd love you for that.
Try to get Joel's Half-Life streams, I'd love you for that.
If I have enough disk space I should be able to get every VOD from the last 2 years. So if he streamed HL between that time period I should be able to.
Obviously you can share the shit and have others DL where you left off. Get all of it. ALL OF IT Id be happy to DL and reupload like 400 gigs of vidya.
