He's always said that sub-only mode defeats the entire point of the chat. After all, the deciding factor to Joel staying around back in the very early Vinesauce days was that the streamer was talking to the chat.

It's just really different when you're used to talking to the chat and suddenly theres so much people you can't read fucking anything and everyone is just spamming some stupid shit. You can always have slow mode or start ignoring the chat, but I think the latter is against Joel's principles as a streamer

Well if he gets popular enough that chat actually annoys him he'll have to do it at some point.

can you blame him when 80% of the chat is emotes and memes? any legitimate reactions and discussion is filtered out by twitch shit
if I'd be a popular twitch streamer I'd probably just automatically ban dumb messages. Like, keep a score per user, and shit like Kappa and other short messages would decrease the score. Go below a certain threshold and get b&
i really find it fascinating how streamers can read the chat at all while playing, even when watching the vods + rechat myself i can't keep up at all

Twitch has wayyyy smaller delay compared to Youtube one.
Man, Peace Walker's [sp]button mashing section[/sp] looked like a goddamn cakewalk to Vinny. Maybe that's cause of the 360's controller.
I don't think he'll get the final ending to peace walker, but I think he could get to the final section and beat it, then watch the ending on youtube. Then he'll be all prepared for MGSV.

I think the most I've seen people be timed out was in the last stream of Peace Walker during the [sp]torture scene[/sp]. Twitch chat is pretty horrendous and theirs are no different.
