KY's Twitch is reactivated.
Also we aren't sure yet, but Joel's YT might not be back until sometime in Monday. Google is off on weekends. Perhaps if they'd hire some actual staff and not robots, they could get this shit done in a minute.
Youtube honestly could fix this in about 10 minutes, just force a password change and log all current users out, how are they so useless
In case nobody has noticed, the music that this "Towel" person is using is copyrighted, which means he's likely trying to get copyright strikes onto joel's channel so it can be taken down. :wavey:

If Google is supposedly going to work on the matter then that shouldn't even be problem.
I feel sad for this Towel dude. I can't imagine how he came to be so narcissistic and fucked in the brain.

I am honestly interested what is his agenda.
at least he has an okay taste in music.

I also like his new video that basically challenged people to find his real IP, its a really good idea to challenge the internet.
Guess Towel threw in the towel.
everyone should be using 2-3 step verification if the service the account is on supports it. nobody will get into your shit even if they have the password unless they have your phone/other contact method
My problem with two step verification is that, what happens if I lost my second step? What if I get mugged and they steal my phone? Then I can't use 2-step. What then?

you can always get a new sim card with the same number if you contact your provider - here at least
Now I'm not too informed on how password managers work and maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about, but IMO using a password manager that just stores all your passwords on a company's server (like LastPass) is kind of dumb. All you are doing is putting your passwords and usernames in one location. I would never trust any server with that kind of information, no matter how secure they claim to be. The only time I would use a password manager is if it stores its stuff on my hard drive.
With LastPass, all the information is encrypted and decrypted locally. Your master password is then hashed with your email address and then hashed again with a random number generated on their servers. This is what is sent to the company so that they can identify you and send you your vault. They at no point get your master password used for encryption and decryption. So all they're storing is an incredibly secure encrypted vault; in other words, if LastPass gets hacked, all they will have access to is your encrypted vault, which the thieves cannot decrypt because they don't have access to the master key. The biggest security risk is if AES256 is broken, and if AES256 is broken your passwords are the least of your concerns because every single company and government institution is now at risk.
HOWEVER, while I trust LastPass in its current state, it was recently bought out by another company. On top of that, UK is trying to pass legislation that online companies can't have unbreakable encryption, and must have a back door. So the company may arbitrarily change their security protocols without warning after the acquisition, or it may change their security protocols to comply with UK law. So there's a lot of uncertainty there. I'm considering switching to KeePassX and sticking it on my Dropbox or something.
the 3 music videos went down? Hm, I'd thought he'd keep them up so Joel would get 3 copyright strikes, terminating his channel.
The "See ya soon ;)" in the newest video's description has me a bit concerned.
He might have something planned before he goes.
Youtube honestly could fix this in about 10 minutes, just force a password change and log all current users out, how are they so useless
Fun fact, this happened to me today.
YouTube logged me out and forced a password change & phone verification on me because it had detected "suspicious activity"
I don't know why this didn't happen to Joel.
even if Towel does delete all of Joel's videos YouTube videos, YouTube will be able to restore all of the videos easily. I had a shitty YouTube account hacked ages ago (2009-ish) and I finally decided to contact YouTube to get the videos back around 2012 and everything went smooth and if I recall, everything was the way it was back when they were before they had gotten removed.
i heard some people have backed up all Joel's videos anyway just in case
Other than the potential for a copyright strike and the loss in subs, i'm surprised he didn't do anything more malicious than that.
Other than the potential for a copyright strike and the loss in subs, i'm surprised he didn't do anything more malicious than that.
He couldn't really have done anything irreversible.
If he wanted he could have removed all videos done this and that and for some reason didn't.
Also
Skurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to all you fucks thinking I'm doxed Swat me fucking retards.
Good job, people probably ruined other peoples' lifes while trying to be internet "heroes".
[editline]7th November 2015[/editline]
At least that implies someone have tried doxing him and probably doxed others in the process instead.
so why did that not happen to mowtendoo?
my guess is that someone was being difficult at YouTube or he never contacted them
Looks like Towel moved on to YMS's twitter account https://twitter.com/2gay2lift.

Imagine if what puts an end to Towel's "reign of terror" is just him getting bored
Looks like Towel moved on to YMS's twitter account https://twitter.com/2gay2lift.
He's already bored because people aren't going apeshit like with Joel.
Imagine if what puts an end to Towel's "reign of terror" is just him getting bored
He probably does something stupid in the end like hacking the FBI it's website and gets himself caught red handed.
Just like what happened to those hacking groups couple years back. Just don't give him attention and he will go away.
