It is kind of difficult. I played around with it myself and it's really floaty. But that's part of the charm and you get used to it pretty quick.

why have the chat open in the first place, I usually just let streams run in the background anyway and if I hear anything interesting coming up I just open the stream up.
I feel like Vinny's chat is more bearable than at Joel.

It's kind of weird that Vinny pushes running jokes so much more than Joel but the only running joke that seems to show up in his chat is one he didn't even make. I don't watch the chat much but I don't think I've once seen "GET THE SHERBET" or "YEAH FAST" or "RIGHT HERE"
Vinny focuses on little things on his own, but otherwise Vinny is actually a fair bit more grounded and typical. Joel is a lot more wild and outrageous. He's a Swedish Metalhead who watches anime and does weird voices and has lots of little kicks like skeletons and shit.

Sherbet/yeah fast seem to be largely contextual. "Right here" is still new enough that people can put it in chat and get a few replies. The biggest thing right now is still "fuck bees". I'm extremely active in chat so I see just about all of them at least once or twice a stream.
