Well, shit. Bravo, Netherrealm, bravo. After MK vs. DCU, I was expecting this to be pretty damn bad, but this reads off like a darker Justice League episode, if not like one of those DCAU animated movies. Not quite as in-depth as the Justice Lords episodes but has better justification at least.
[sp]Watching Shazam have hot lasers go through his skull was really, really unsettling.[/sp] Whole thing was pretty awesome though. I'd pay to see this animated like some of the other DC movies.
the entire injustice plotline is similar to crisis on two earths which they already animated back in 2010.
Yeah I remember that. Owlman was pretty rad.
Every game Harley Quinn becomes more scantily clad.
That moment when you realise that Harley is showing off more cleavage than Catwoman.
Is it just me or the graphics are very old looking?
Is it just me or the graphics are very old looking?
I think they spent their budget on the Superhero VAs :v:
I like this game. The only thing I didn't really like, that cutscenes texture quality is lowered or blurred, and when the game is switching to the actual fight, everything looks much prettier than it was during cutscene.

Yup
That was really awesome. It's so cool these guys are basically making entire movies to go along with their fighting games. I hope they continue doing that, these are pretty sweet so far.

The fuck does a fighting game have to do with education Dull story? I'd say this one of the best DC stories so far, it's not fantastic but it's nowhere near dull. Lacking replay support? Fighting games have tons of replayability
By educational tools, they probably mean things to help you learn how to play the game. And by replay support, they probably mean replays of matches
A fighting game rarely has "educational tools", look at street fighter/MvC3/Mortal Kombat (the most recent one). That is what the training rooms are for. (I'm not entirely sure if Injustice even has a training room)

If they had done everything realtime in cutscene it would have been as good looking as the game is, but some of the scenes would have required their own areas with full geometry and props and the like and loading would have been a nightmare, especially for the ps3.
He is as part of the "justice league of america" one from DCs new 52.
No he's a founding member of the New52 JL, New52 JLA is seperate. I'm assuming it's because the JL needed a token character even though J'onn's human form is usually black it's not how you regularly see him.
Meanwhile, at Gamespot: Truly the peak of gaming journalism.
replay???? did they only play their russian dlc. (should have had alt batman) IGN showed a video where you can play as catwoman's pussy cat.
Star Labs has a basic rundown of every character and probably one of the best training modes in recent fighting games. They have no reason to say that it had minimal education tools when most other fighting games don't have much to begin with. Not sure about fight replays though.
there needs to be a review critic on review critics.
And before that, the Justice League show did a similar storyline. [editline]17th April 2013[/editline] Plus, alternate-JL Superman had a better solution for Doomsday than Injustice Superman. :v:
I actually liked the Justice Lords more than the Regime. They weren't really evil even though they did enforce a police state, which I think is a lot more realistic than Supes just become an irredeemable villain who [sp]offs Billy Batson for no reason.[/sp]

It's a lot more believable than "OK now Supes is the evilest person." And the events surrounding Superman killing Luthor in JL are better thought out than Superman killing Joker in Injustice. Something about Superman being 'drugged' into thinking Lois was Doomsday just seems INCREDIBLY comical to me.

[editline]17th April 2013[/editline] Its actually explained over the course of the comics up until he kills Joker. We should have a Facepunch community for this. I'm having a blast with it so far. Best part of the story? [sp]"I'M NOT DICK GRAYSON."[/sp] Stone. Fucking. Cold.
Hmm, we should have a comics thread.
Still can't get over this face.
I laugh my ass off everytime I see the end cutscene to Battle mode. [sp]Evil Superman gets sucked into the Negative Zone. We see a flash of his memories, including a tombstone that just says "BABY KENT". Once he disappears, cut to his angry face floating through space.[/sp] I give Netherrealm MASSIVE amounts of credit for openly embracing the goofyness of the DCU. Aquaman feeds his enemies to a shark, Superman punches people into space, Shazam is still a little kid at heart, etc. Seriously, having played this and Mortal Kombat within two weeks of eachother, Neatherrealm have quickly become one of my favorite devs.
I loved how comic-booky the story was.
Having watched Superman Vs. The Elite 20 minutes prior to this, I sometimes forgot it was a video game. Amazingly well done and entertaining.
