I wonder if anybody ever really believed this crap, or it was just a lot of headlines from people in the know, who wanted to get clicks by naming an article "REY'S PARENTS REVEALED?!".
Imagine if Marvel Studios had Stark's parents murdered by some obscure character only shown in a spin-off comic tied to the MCU, and then casually mentioned the character without any introducttion in Civil War
