iirc the shit is nasty.
Breathe it your fucked, ingest it your fucked, get it in your eyes your fucked.
Yeah.. sounds like something not to play with.
How would this work? This is how I assume it'd work.
[sub]Get a full body suit covered in this stuff.
Cover entire room in this stuff while you're in the full body suit.
Invite someone in. Kill them with your coated knife. Blood is easy to come off.
Dump guy in ocean or lake with cement in his shoes. Only evidence you'll seemingly leave behind would be eye witnesses, his fingerprints, and this huge ass bill of Rust-Oleum.[/sub]
It probably could be used to easily hide/remove fingerprints and other bodily fluids too (mainly semen).
Apparently on the bottle it says it contains chemicals that cause cancer.
Welp.
A few flaws:
- You can rub it off
- If you apply it to fabric, normal flexing will open up gaps
- Not totally transparent
- If you breathe it in bad things can happen
- If you applied it to pretty much anything you'd have to keep reapplying it to maintain effectiveness
Very interesting properties, and has without a doubt many useful applications!
Room for improvement, though.

Lots of chemical based products have that on the side.
I've got a feeling there is some industrial strength version that you can't rub off or anything like that but they decided it was too "good" to be released for the average american soccer mom, just in case they decide to spray something and want to get rid of it but can't

Aren't there hydrophobic polymers/nanotech stuff that is used to coat cars (mainly windshields) with?
I bolded part of the text to shield myself from inevitable "wax" smartass.
seems handy in a paintball fight :v:
It would be a great prank do do this to one person is a wet t-shirt contest, not letting her or the judges know.
This would be great to spray onto my glasses, I fucking hate walking in the rain with them on and the water builds up on the lenses.

It would leave a blueish residue.
So I bought this.
Odorless my asshole this thing has got the smell of shit they use on planes
It would leave a blueish residue.
Can you clean the residue off? People say swimming with glasses does damage to the lenses but I've never had that happen.
Also depends on what the blue residue looks like, it could not look bad on glasses. All though the risk of looking like a pimp or something.

I don't think you understand you wouldn't be able to see through your glasses because it would change it from being 100% clear to being hazy/frosted (aka, you won't be able to see through them).
inhale it deep into your lungs and breathe underwater

I see, that's a bummer. It's still a cool thought though.
If it's really hydrophobic does that mean that if you get seem really lipophillic on it, it'll never come off?
This would be perfect to put in the gas tank of my scooter.. lol it would keep rust from building up for sure!
does this work on socks
Spray your asshole and never need to wipe
Coat your teeth with it: Never need to brush again
I need this stuff for my sun glasses for when I get caught in the rain while I'm riding my bike. Practically act as a windshield wiper for my glasses. (They're safety glasses so it's not prescription or actual glass, wouldn't have to worry about ruining them)
Something can't be this awesome without some serious drawbacks, it has to cause cancer or something.
Only thing I can imagine is reducing breathability of things, probably not good for sports wear but better for say CBRN Suits.

And then crash because you can't see shit due to the haze it makes
The idea of simply accidentally breathing this in or spraying it on your skin actually just completely terrifies me. It seems unusually dangerous for what it is. I'd much prefer it if they somehow worked with other companies to sell things that already had it on it or something, as well as make it permanent on said items. Like, buying an iPhone that already has this stuff on it, making it waterproof. Or just clothes in general all being made with this stuff. Having a spray of it just seems terrifying. I could just go up to somebody and spray it in their face.
But then again, I guess it's the same idea with things like bleach and other dangerous sprays.
I fail to see any practical use for this besides being cool, since it causes cancer when breathed and it'll wear off relatively quickly.

Could prevent rust.
That's all i got

Literally at 0:35 they show what glass looks like when it's coated. It's entirely frosted to the point where you can't see through it.
