Graphics are quite weak, but as said the art style looks fantastic and the gameplay superb. Games where you can stealth around but get caught are always so exciting to play. Defiantly one of the highlights of this year.
Because it's Deus Ex with a cover system [editline]6th July 2011[/editline] 10:07, laser gets cut off by the box in the front It's not bugged
Problem being you switch in and out of 3rd person constantly and I don't really like that. I'd rather it either stay one way or the other.
Of course what makes this game great isn't the rooty tooty point and shooty stuff the devs always show, it's the fun little things you can do on your own Like so
The guard reacted to the footsteps, not the vent cover.
It's weird, you sort of.. stop noticing you're in third-person. It's probably the best use of the third-person view in an FPS game in ages.
That's one thing that always got me killed in the first two Deux Ex's. Trying to stay behind cover when a room is full of people.
I don't like the graphics. The art style and the way things are modeled is great, but the textures look blurry, like medium-quality textures on other engines look, and the shadows seem to just be dark grey outlines around the characters. It just feels like a game that's in the very early stages rather than going to be released at the end of the year.
Have you played the leak? (not that i'm advocating you to do so, just wondering if this opinion has been formed after having played some of the game or not) You really don't notice it after the first minute or two of gameplay.
I haven't so this is based solely on this thread's video. But it seems to me that zooming in and out of your character's head can't be good for immersion. Still it remains to be seen for me whether it really is less noticeable while playing the game.

Now that the AI is smarter we'll need the cloaking/cover systems. The second Deus Ex was a joke, just run in and shoot everything.

If Deus Ex 1 was a medkit scrounger, then Deus Ex 2 is an ammo scrounger.

Isn't that what it looks like when Steriostopic 3D is on.
I honestly don't think the graphics are bad. I actually don't notice with dat art direction going on.
