Has there been any evidance of this? From what i've read, it is crucial to the plot.
Around 1:52. And if it was crucial to the plot, then it's still bullshit cause we have to pay extra for a technically incomplete game to be "true" fans. I don't think people should be stopped from buying it, but I find it amusing people are trying to rationalize the monetization this game has before it's even released.
I'm thinking the Protheans might have a larger presence in ME3. If this is true, having a prothean squad member that's day one dlc might not be such a huge deal, but if that's the only prothean in the game, then this is definitely total bullshit.
I don't get why people play the opposite gender in games, like in Eve, a lot of my corpmates have female alt characters and I have no idea why. What's the attraction to it?
They either don't identify themselves with their character (ie they are a player controlling an avatar but that's the only connection the player and avatar have) or they imagine themselves being a female. Could be a mix of the two too. And I'm guessing there is more of the people who just don't identify themselves with the avatar. Which I don't like, I'd rather get immersed and thus identify myself with a character I made, but that's just personal preference.
I was agreeing with you, any argument about the whole thing is just dumb.
There is no "you should" or "you shouldn't", there is "why" you're just jumping to conclusions when people say "I don't get why". It's not an argument.
Game companies have been doing this for a long time. I myself was pissed when Civ 5 launched with DLC. Why is this just now "Boycott worthy". I mean I wasn't planning on "buying" this anyways, since EA refuses to give steam a resale contract for it. I do however agree entirely, and I generally refuse to buy any game that launches with DLC or "Digital Deluxe Editions". Except Civ 5...
Its a shame they did this, I really don't feel comfortable at all supporting bioware or EA for this game. It really is overstepping the moral side of how DLC should work, assuming this prothean will be the only one we see, which so far seems to be the case. As much as it pains me to let my shepard go, I'm going to have to if they're going to pull this crap.
