I don't know about that.
If they pulled a repeat of the 2002 release, they'd be able to ditch the prerendered stuff for an even more detailed game. They'd actually be able to fix the widescreen issues instead of using a cheap illusion and then listing it as an improvement.
Right now it's impossible because of how the realtime effects are rendered over the still images. Closest you'll ever get to true widescreen with this game is with a widescreen hack that the Dolphin emu has.
It wouldn't happen though because it's already been done once and it's Capcom.
But if they do a RE2 or RE3 remake they'd be forced to pull out all the stops, which is why it's pretty damn unlikely to happen. It might all depend on how well this sells.
It would be sick if they did a 2014/2015 pre-rendered RE. Cant imagine how amazing they could make it look now. Id take that over realtime 3D for REmake

Please fans don't fuck this up.
I'm sure there's a joke about tentacle porn, Jill Valentine, Sherry Birkin, and that one chick from RE5 to be made.

Jill Sandwiches. That's the joke.
And Sheva is her name.
Hopefully a straight port with some flashy filters thrown in will be enough. If they can avoid having loads of glitches by release it may do well.
I'll be amused if some glitches from the gamecube version are still there. The last time I remember playing the remake, I remember there was something you could do with the item boxes that allowed you to get an absurd amount of grenades.
I knew that 2 and 3 were available on the PSN. What I meant is newer fans of the RE series are gonna be less inclined to play when there's no HD remake of those 2 readily available. HD Remakes always have that stigma where if one game out of a series gets remade, the others probably aren't worth checking out. It's silly, but it's there.

That was in the US version, I tried doing so my European version and it didn't work...ain't sure about the Wii version, though, as in the Resident Evil archives, technically New Play Control.
Huh that's funny because when I check the French PSN Store page there is a fuckin bundle that includes all 3 games.

Weird how you could miss that when all I had to do was search "resident evil" in the PSN store.
[editline]1st September 2014[/editline]
And all the games show up individually.

Well that's fucking confusing. Must have been a problem with my navigator. My bad then.
Fuck I'd settle for a direct port of RE2 from the Dreamcast version.
I got Zero mixed up with this.

Point still stands they haven't really done much but upscale it.

*That we know of for now.

And we know you got it mixed up with REmake... that'd be why we corrected you on it.
