Reminds me of a program i saw where they bring some tribe members to New York i think. Blew their minds.
Have a link to a video?
I love how they tried to hide themselves from the mirror by putting a leaf over it. Seeing how they look must be fucking terrifying for them

http://ohiwantsundaes.ytmnd.com/ "I want that, oh, I want sundaes. Oh, I want sundaes, charge them on the card. I want that, oh, I want sundaes. Oh I want sundaes... and I no have." Those are the lyrics.
Very Interesting Stuff. Heart Warming too.
Could you tell me the name? i am intrested in watching it.
Fuck, I forgot. But I think there was a Facepunch thread for it.
Have a link to a video?
I don't even remember the name or channel. Probably National Geographic.
Amazing to see their reactions, at first they're scared to life, and at the end they look so happy just like kids getting an present at x-mas
I don't even remember the name or channel. Probably National Geographic.
Might it have been Meet the Natives? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nc1jr7cFOMw&feature=related. Only thing relevant i found while googling.
It's kind of hard to create a steam engine with materials on Papua New Guinea.
But creating somewhat more advanced tools than what existed during the stoneage isnt

Imagine seeing matches, for them a fire is a laborious process that takes many minutes to do, have any of you tried lighting a fire using friction? ie a firebow/firestick. Its hard work and difficult at the best of times. Imagine having done this for hundreds of years and then suddenly a thing comes along that can conjure fire with a single movement of his wrist. It would be as if someone came up to us and put a fusion reactor the size of a shoebox in-front of us, and I'm not exaggerating.
I'd love to see you and some friends get together in the middle of a jungle and figure out how to make an iron axe. Technological progress requires thousands of collaborative ideas and minds over hundreds of years to achieve.
Not to mention convenient accidents, copper was only discovered when they made a small fire on some copper ore. I also doubt that areas like this have ores just conveniently lying on the surface, the nature of a rainforest is that the ground is a thick topsoil made of loam and dead leaves, not something you find iron ore in.
This was amazing.... I cant imagine what they must have thought...

I love how at 9:30 as soon as he puts it in his mouth he spits it out of his mouth but after trying he can't get enough of it. [editline]23rd June 2011[/editline]
And that's why I'm still here behind my computer living a life that I'd rather not live. But if I could choose in what kind of society to live.
Buy a plane ticket and live with the tribe. Be the only white person there.
In what sense do you mean that?
Well let's see, infection, complications at birth, disease, food poisoning, the list goes on really. [editline]23rd June 2011[/editline]
And that's why I'm still here behind my computer living a life that I'd rather not live. But if I could choose in what kind of society to live, I'd live in a family like that. I mean, if I had surviving experience in a jungle enviroment, I would be gone already, honestly. Edit: Not saying that how we live in this society is wrong though, it's just my opinion.
I too would like the average life span to be 26 and to have 3/4 children die before adulthood. If only. . .
I loved the way they didn't know what a handshake was, and a bit later in the video, I got the same feeling they must have had: What the hell was the thing where they sort of hit their heads after taking the food in their mouths? Was it some kind of "It tastes good!" or something? Or a gesture of politeness? I loved that :D And the part right where they play the recording, the guy just gets up in utter disbelief. Must have been an extremely exciting day.

That was beautiful
I like how after the first few things they just kinda get used to seeing crazy shit.
when the tribal man asks:what do you do for fun? civilized dude says: this. and a big bowl with a bunch of water...which you swim in!!
Take a bunch to America and release them in the streets of New York they'll fit right in
I love the part with the mirror where the guy is almost saying "This thing, it contains the same person as me, same feathers, same nose piercing, everything" [editline]24th June 2011[/editline] Ive seen some cool things on youtube But this was one of the most breathtaking and amazing things ive ever watched.
they reacted surprisingly well. amazing video.
and then we waged war with them shortly after.
I was honestly expecting the game
That was amazing. I can't imagine what it would feel like to live such a sheltered life, knowing only the things you see around you, to then be presented with all that.
This is amazing.
