The only thing I am excited for with these "next gen" consoles is that hopefully gaming can actually move forward instead of being stuck on shitty ancient hardware for 8 years and PC ports will get better.

It's really dumb if it doesn't support PS3 games. Why wouldn't it? The games still come as blu-ray disks and the specs of both systems fit on the same spectrum.

uh.. maybe you don't know how consoles work, but it's literally impossible. they've stopped producing the cell chip now, so putting a ps3 into the ps4 would be the most expensive thing to ever do ever. and it can't software emulate it either, because of their massive architecture differences

Oh well, guess that makes it seem reasonable.
Using the Cell ship was sort of a mistake to begin with, and even though this causes a loss of backwards compatibility, it's a step forward for Sony.
Who gives two shits how small/large the console is and what it looks like as long as it feels and plays good
