Sony is really scraping the bottom of the barrel with this one. I hope this doesn't end up becoming the new minions (which speaking of minions, there's a third despicable me film being made in case you didn't know). Also it doesn't look like Sony's ideas are going to get any better what with the live action Barbie film their making with Amy Schumer as the lead (and I wouldn't be surprised if Amy Pascal or Paul Fieg was directing it).
Friendly reminder that this got canned because Emoji "product placement galore" Movie was obviously more important

Just fuck you Sony.
I'd rather see the brazers porn parody
So has any film with the title style "The ____ Movie" ever done well critically? Other than maybe the first Scary Movie?
I'd rather see the brazers porn parody
starring the eggplant emoji
Also I find it funny how low energy it is compared to that Popeye clip posted. Obviously Popeye would cost a lot more to make as well, which is probably another reason why they went with Emoji.

Is the sad emoji guy voiced by the radio announcer from Reservoir Dogs?

I already genuinely hate this movie

Yes
I'm not even sure I want to watch the teaser. I just can't imagine it being anything other than worse than all that my imagination can muster. I don't need that in my life
I hope the crying laughing emoji is voiced by a black guy, and just laughs at people's flaws. "LOOK AT THIS NIGGA HAIR! 😂😂😂"

Imagine all the other emoji lusting after the Peach emoji and wanting to eat her.
Let me know when they make a movie centered around bottle flipping, or dabbing, or cringing.
That's what kids do these days, right?
The Cringe Movie would be quite something.

A classic cartoon icon a lot of people still recognize to this day < Emojis.
Good job Sony.

no wonder the Sony movies label is putting out flop after flop
Was that Steven Wright as the depressed emoji?
i really hope people don't stop complaining about product placement. it's one of the most dishonest forms of advertising there is
Personally, I just don't have a problem with advertisements that blend in, but I also don't see it as dishonest because it doesn't fool anyone either. In fact, in some rare cases thoughtful product placement can contribute to the realism of a setting: in sports games for example.
That guy sounds like the radio host from Reservoir Dogs.
I👏 am 👏totally 👏going 👏to👏watch 👏it 😂😂👌
This is horrible.
👎 🙅 😠

Wow, its even annoying and obnoxious when its being parodied.
So, why is the Meh Emoji, Sarcastic?
Last time I checked Meh wasn't sarcasm. It was "Eh, I don't really care"
Internet smilies should be grateful they took a backseat to Emojis™ or else they would've been shoved into a similarly shitty cashgrab of a film like this.

does this count?
It's worth noting that the directer has been working on some fairly lukewarm films, with only some shimmers of lights every once and awhile..

Overall, from the trailer it just seems to be business as usual with Sony again...
Clickbait movie names, quick to make, cheap as hell, and of course just for good measure " UUUGGHH WHY?! " * Headbutt into the desk * "
