It was floating on air that the wheels were thrusting.
Why is the source engine considered "awesome" when it comes to physics?
It's just the fucking Havoc system, which is getting VERY outdated.
Why did you post this?
I'm thinking since cars can't flip in that game, someone hit him so hard that the car is trying to flip, but it can't, so it's just spinning like that.
I'm most likely wrong about this, but it makes sense to me. Somewhat.
This guy is most likely correct, games like these have "physics engines", per-say, that focus more on the car's handling rather than classical basic physics interactions.
This is called "air-plaining". Happened to me the other day when I was draggin' some fool off the lights - was pretty scary I can tell you!
No, seriously, if someone tried to recreate a vehicle sim in this version of source, it would be awful. Don't call me a fanboy.
There's no doubt that vehicle and player physics are terribad in Source by today's standard, but you can't compete with it's prop physics.

Heavily tweaked havoc :eng101:
Actually, I don't think Source physics are that bad.

Above post
The prop physics in source are pretty bad by todays standards, too many collision issues. Try some new games like Red Faction: Guerrilla and you'll see what i mean.
Title is misleading considering its from prologue not the new gt5.
This has been in every Gran Turismo game that I know of. Hopefully they'll have it fixed for Gran Turismo 5
But that is GT5?
GT5: Prologue the demo that came out like 4 years ago.

Doesn't hide the fact that this video was released last year.
Besides, with the amount of development time this game has had you'd think it wouldn't have a huge physics glitch like that.
This IS NOT GT5. This is a beta demo that was released ages ago, it has nothing to do with the new GT5.
They have said themselves many times, the physics are completely rewritten in the full game, aswell as many other factors.
Prologue was just a rush job to stop people moaning about long development times.
