-snip- (I was being an asshole for no good reason)
it's also common courtesy not to ride people's ass, knowingly trying to scare them out of your way by getting dangerously close to their bumper. common courtesy is tied to the golden rule: "treat others the way you would like to be treated" would you want to hold the door open for someone who's shouting at you "Get the fuck out of my way! I want to go in first, fuck you!" you also seem to be ignoring the part where the guy spun out of control and nearly caused a major accident because diverting his attention from the road to make rude gestures at someone was more important to him than driving safely. or are you really just defending a reckless maniac driver because you hate slow drivers that much?
You made a point, and then directly after stated exactly why your point makes no sense. If you don't hold the door for someone who is in a rush and being an asshole, you might get a nasty glare. If you don't let someone pass who is in a rush and being an asshole, you can potentially contribute to a fatal accident that could kill several people. Where did i state i was defending the guy in the truck? I've said several times he was an idiot as well. I'm just pointing out the fact that the woman not letting him pass and trying to get a good video out of it while driving is just as stupid
may he rest in beer
If you don't let someone pass who is in a rush and being an asshole, you can potentially contribute to a fatal accident that could kill several people.
It goes both ways, if someone is being too slow for you and you decide to respond by driving erratically to try to scare them out of your way, you can potentially contribute to a fatal accident that could kill several people. Kinda like the guy in the video almost did. I'm not trying to argue here that you should be a prick and slam your brakes or slow to 30MPH if someone is riding your ass, I'm arguing that driving like a reckless prick isn't somehow better than driving like a slow prick. maybe I'm a little biased because one of my cousins was killed by someone who pushed her off the fucking road because she was going the speed limit, the guy behind her didn't want to, and there was no room for her to "show some common courtesy" for the maniac driver by switching lanes.

They are both complete idiots, and we could go on for hours trying to argue on which one was more of an idiot and get no where. What my point has been, is while the driver of the truck is clearly a complete moron for driving as he did, the person filming and not letting him pass contributed to the accident as well. In a majority of situations that i have seen, when someone is being tailgated by a douche bag, they move over and let him pass and that was that. The guy got where he wanted to go / gets pulled over for speeding, the person who let him pass can just pull back into the left lane if they need to turn or pass someone. This video is a prime example of what happens when two douches meet, one needing to pass and the other not letting them do so and it becomes some sort of ego fuelled face off where the end result is an accident that could have been far worse.
She was going to turn left, and she was passing the other trucks. Sure, if she had a chance to and could do so in a reasonable time before she needed to turn, she probably should have pulled over to the right lane for a bit. But saying they're "equally as bad" is just dumb. The guy tailgating in rainy weather because she wasn't passing as fast as he wanted was way worse.
People are terrible about moving over in America. When someone comes flying up behind you, it's not your job to pass judgement and say, "WELL I'MA GO SLOW TO MAKE HIM SLOW DOWN TOO". Just get the fuck out of their way and avoid conflict. I always let people pass in the rare event they're trying to go any faster than I usually do.
People are pretty terrible at driving in this country in general. There is no more common courtesy on the roads. I find it impossible to switch lanes if I have to depend on someone to let me through, because they will almost always be assholes and not slow down.
This woman was clearly doing some deliberate trolling, and actually admitted to pulling out her phone multiple times in the past to do the same thing. I'm disappointed they didn't crash into each other. If you're in the fast lane and someone comes up close behind you, just freaking finish whatever passing you're doing and move over. Don't pull out your goddamn phone and deliberately escalate things. The mere fact that she reacted to an accident she was involved in by slowing down to scream "HAHA THAT'S WHAT YOU GET" out the window makes her equally guilty to me.

Sometimes they're slow, but it just reminds me that it's ok to take it easy. Unless I'm on the way home and have to take a shit really bad. Then it's every man for himself.
Did you not read the description, or the fact that the video was 2 minutes long? She states he was tailgating for 3 minutes BEFORE she started recording, and then another minute and a half of her recording still being tailgated. She was sitting in the left lane, not turning left, for over 4 minutes. You don't need to sit in the left lane if you're turning left 6 miles down the road.
You've obviously never been in pretty dense traffic conditions. More often than not I end up missing a left turn because the assholes next to me don't feel like letting me get over (since they're just chilling there going the speed limit, not trying to pass me). Sometimes I'm sandwiched between two vehicles in the right lane and I can't even slow down to merge before my turn. That's why I started going into the left lane as soon as an opportunity arose, even if I don't have the need to turn for the next five miles.

Also Florida doesn't have passing lanes.
It's road courtesy to treat the leftmost lane as a passing lane, but it's not legally mandated in a lot of states. There are a few stretches of road in Colorado that I know of where there are signs stating "Keep right except to pass," and you'll be surprised how many idiots still go 5-10mph under the limit in those lanes. Fuck you, I am totally passing you on the right.
