I thought the hate for Pewdiepie was exaggerated knowing how the internet works but I didn't know he was this bad

I hate what he's doing, but I don't want people to think that Youtube is illegitimate work because of what he's doing. Maintaining a YT channel takes a lot of work.

I don't need to 'gang up' on people--I have my opinion and I generally stick with it, that is why people are interested in what I have to say. I don't have an American Express logo above my head. I have no financial interest in sharing my opinion about people or things. And really, I've been sharing my opinion non-profit for many many many years outside of games. That is why it has ended up in newspapers and on the BBC.

And if the numbers are right and using averages, he brought in maybe $200,000 last month. He is making a ton of money, but most of what he's made has been this year, he's not making millions yet. His growth has been exponential the last few months which is why his numbers look so positive all of a sudden.

Because we all have different tastes. As long as someone has put in the effort to make something unique and true to what they believe--if they have sat there and given it there all then who I am to judge. But pewdiepie? He is just playing games that [B]other people[/B] made and overreacting like fuck. The best part is that the only conceivable reason someone would do that is for money. And that's all that he does it for IMHO. His videos show no effort, no artistic merit, no academic merit, no comedic merit. All he is doing is showing kids that the real way to strike it rich is to make shitty YouTube videos that you put no effort into. Unfortunately that's the fault of this world somewhat, but I guess life isn't always fair. Again that's all my opinion, and if I'm going to be very blunt about my opinion of pewdiepie it would still be: I hope he gets run over by a fucking train.

PewDiePie is irritating. I hate it when people call me a bandwagoner for saying this as well. No, I'm not bandwagoning, he's just really annoying. And you don't need someone else to point that out to see it, he's so blatantly obnoxious. There are so many YouTubers out there who are SO much better and funnier than he is, who get barely any attention. It sickens me that this many people want to watch this crap over videos which are actually very entertaining. I would love it if someone like Northernlion had the views he had. Northernlion is actually funny, and never screams even in the most dire situations, he's generally a very entertaining Let's Player.

I'd say the only times I watch people play videogames is when they talk about game theory and stuff like that (Egoraptor's Sequelitis and Campster's Errant Signal) or when the video is a compilation of funny moments in-game (Criken's Funhouse)
