Slowbeef and Diabetus have a few good ones. Dave_O has his own now that's not too bad. Sir_Crest makes quality videos and definitely cares about what he puts out. The new Game Grumps channel is the best raw LP I've ever seen. Finally, Cr1TiKaL (PenguinZ,) does really immature humor in the same vein as PewDiePie but he does it just right by sticking with obscure games in smaller doses and with a varied sense of humor.

It tends to really vary on person preferences, or what you want to listen to. The main thing you want to look for in an LPer is that they're actually putting effort into their videos and attempting to bring people the best possible experience to go along with their commentary.

I do YT as a job, I try to put in all the time I can, and it's a lot of work. I take pride in what I do and I share my work with people I meet. PewDiePie is doing what I think is crude and primitive. He's concentrated down what the vast majority of his "kind" of viewers are looking for... Reactions. I am incredibly jealous of his success as he gets more subscribers in 4 hours than I have in 2 years, however I don't think I'd say he doesn't deserve it.
He's not cheating the system. He's simply capitalizing on what he saw worked. For a long time I hated him for what he did, but honestly, I do not blame him. Being popular is half luck and half work. He hit the luck and I can't say he necessarily doesn't deserve it. Sure plenty of other people have talent and maybe should be getting more traffic, but 90% of the time, they are shit at marketing their content, and so I blame them for not being more successful.
That's how I see it now. That image comment is silly to overreact for. When you get thousands of comments per day, there is a point where you can't bother with debating a negative comment. The truth is he does get traffic from people who still hate on his videos. It's simply how it works. To be honest, he was right, though mean.
