I bet that light was red by the time he got halfway into the intersection.
...which is still perfectly legal? If you stop every time a light turns yellow I bet you piss off all of the drivers behind you.
...which is still perfectly legal? If you stop every time a light turns yellow I bet you piss off all of the drivers behind you.
And it causes accidents. Here in California red light cameras are all but abolished save for high density intersections, because accident rates were climbing heavily. People see the yellow and mash on their brakes to avoid a red light ticket, and it causes a domino effect of cars rear ending one another. This same effect would occur if people were expected to ALWAYS stop at a yellow light.
If he had not ran the yellow he would have been spared the accident. Thats not victim blaming, thats called facts; Victim Precipitation.
Here's what we know: 1. There was (potentially) a guy behind the S2000 tailgating him. Would have likely caused another accident for him to stop on a dime for that yellow light. 2. Even if we don't take into account the first part, he was past the white lines. He has a legal right and obligation to run the yellow light as it's considered the safe distance. 3. The light was still yellow when the lady ran the light. Thus, the S2000 driver is still in his legal rights while the minivan was running a full-blown red-light. Everything in the video shown has the S2000 driver in the right. Your argument there legitimately doesn't apply. At all.
