O, fuckin' FINALLY! Time to pick this up again!
Hopefully the starting game's a bit faster. Kinda tiring to spend over an hour trying to get your first pick.
imo monthly or every 2 month updates would be great, i mean its early access it doesnt really matter if shit breaks for a small amount of time anyway
Yeah, I mean we are after all the beta testers.
I forgot i owned this game [editline]15th December 2014[/editline] thank god they added bowling
I once played it but a bug caused my entire ship inventory to vanish and i stopped
If I remember right reason why did they do this in first place was because some people complained about too frequent updates.
Games can have several branches on Steam so really this shouldn't be an issue. imo the point of early access games is to always have access to the latest builds to play the game and provide feedback as it is made.
My main problem from what I had played of Starbound was that there was no reason to stay on a planet for a long period and develop it, yet simultaneously there was no reason to go to other planets once you had found a good one.
Yeah it was fucking boring compared to Terraria. Starbound had the problem of just everything being too slow while still trying to borrow the combat experience in Terraria. Even with tech that made you super mobile it still wasn't viable to use melee at all.
Starbound needs to wind down the cost of having to grind for coal & other things. Because it's fucking annoying when you attempt to actually go somewhere to explore but "Nope you need 200 coal to go to another star."

Coal actually can't be used as a fuel anymore. Liquid Erchius is the standard fuel, with things like Uranium, Plutonium, and Solarium being other more rare but effective fuels. Fuel costs between systems is also much lower now. But the only place you can actually find Liquid Erchius is on moons or bought from the outpost vendor.
I bet this is the last update.
Well I hate to disappoint you but the starting game is slower, and picks have durability now.
Starting was already the fucking worst. What are they thinking?
Well I hate to disappoint you but the starting game is slower, and picks have durability now.
You're not supposed to use the picks as much anymore, the matter manipulator is getting a lot more love now and apparently it's going to be easier mining with it instead of the picks from now on. Picks are now more like "oh I found this in a chest now I can get a little bit of a speed boost" instead of a main mining tool
Starting was already the fucking worst. What are they thinking?
To be fair, the starting game is the only game it has. After that, you have nothing worth working towards.
To me it feels as if every biome needs unique items which are actually unique in some way rather than a reskin. Looking through the items they've added, so many are either just reskins or have a generic effect when you use them. There needs to be far more variety to encourage exploration other than just aesthetics.
Not a fan of this whole Yearly Update thing, but at least it beats Wollay's method.
I'm pretty sure it's not a yearly update, just a big content patch once a year. Which is far better than not no content patch at all.
