What if its supposed to be in horrible pain?
Thats what I mean. Is it just some gross ass shit that just looks like it's half dead but is really fine, or did it used to be something else and now lives in a state of constant agony
HOREY SHIT. IT'S THE HORROR GAME I'VE ALWAYS WANTED! Otherworldly, gory, atmospheric, unsettling, and UNIQUE of all things! The perfect blend to make a great horror game! Please don't be shit, please don't be shit, please don't be shit!
Same here, man. This one, Agony and Inner Chains absolutely *nailed* the art direction, that's what I expect from a horror game these days.

Is it just some gross ass shit that just looks like it's half dead but is really fine, or did it used to be something else and now lives in a state of constant agony
Well there's what looks like blood on the ground next to it. It could be hurt or it could be alien drunk and vomitted alien beer and now it's crawling in search of the alien toilet or some alien pizza
Just glad we're finally getting horror games that rely on creep factor, alienation and puzzles rather than ~jump scare run from the monster constantly~ bullshit. Now all we need is a game in the vein of Mulholland Drive and maybe AAA will get their shit together in the horror genre.
That's how horror should be, in the end. Shock has its value when used in the right space at the right time, but rely on it too much and it loses its effectiveness. Too many horror games rely on sudden surprise, rather than letting things flow and develop naturally, so that it gently seeps in, chills you to the bone, and lingers afterwards.
:vomit: I love it; sign me the fuck up.

Does it even have a mouth with which to scream?
This feels like the continuity of some of the old 90's surrealist horror games, I really hope this game won't suck
Reminds me of something from Ice Pick Lodge. Hopefully there's more to it than just its looks
Have no mouth and I must upvote this greenlight game
I'm in love

So it might of been human at one point and was changed.
I couldn't finish Zeno Clash because I felt my sanity slipping away, I'm afraid this game will be worse.
sentient cancer
beksinski, Giger, even Chet Zar Three of my favorite artists of all fucking time This game was made for me
This feels like the continuity of some of the old 90's surrealist horror games, I really hope this game won't suck
This, I couldn't quite place how I found this style so familiar. Reminded me that 90's games were on a fucking mission to haunt you with weird hyper-realistic screens.
Ok that whole presentation was absolutely awesome. The music really caught me too. I have a feeling that the music and art will make this game good no matter what-- looks like an extremely talented group of creators.
This is closer to Zdzislaw Beksinski's work, in terms of color and chosen structures.
Nah, definitely Giger. Beksinki tends to feel a lot more inorganic with sharper edges. He also mixes a lot of solid inorganic things with his organic. His stuff is also generally uh "dry". He tends to use richer colours too. The curves, wetness to a lot of it, and hues are definitely giger inspired. For stuff clearly inspired by Beksinki look at the dawn of war 3 trailer.

Beksinski likes to mix urban, recognizable architecture with human bones. Giger on the other hand designed indescribable structures that somehow look organically extraterrestrial. This game is clearly the latter.
Inner Chains:
this looks a bit too shit tbh artistically it's cool I guess but it looks like it was made in unreal engine without much effort put into making it feel unique and fluid as a world; as if there's nothing really to it it just shows fingertrees that follow a preset animation, an ASMD rifle that's boney, and 2 enemies that don't seem to have much AI [editline]3rd July 2016[/editline] If you can tell by a trailer what engine a game is using its already looking bad. Hopefully they make major changes to the AI and add more

As stated by one person in the comments section, it's one thing to be influenced by H.R Giger. It's another to preform a satanic ritual involving consuming his ashes and soul. This looks absolutely horrifying, and i'll most definitely check it out when it comes out.
I can't stop re-watching this trailer I'm so fucking in you guys don't get it I had full on autistic levels of obsession for Giger, Beksinski, and Zar from like ages 6-17. When I hit 17 I became more interested in making my own shit than staring at others' but 110% of that love and obsession is still there. I'm actually a bit sad I didn't have a hand in making this game. I'm fucking jealous. I'm just so happy to see homages to the likes of Giger and Beksinski by artists who actually understand their use of color and composition and imperfect symmetry instead of "flesh and tubes and dicks in greyscale lol am I creppy yet"
I can't stop re-watching this trailer I'm so fucking in
I thought I was the only one. I watched it like 10 times already. Consider me hyped. I honestly couldn't give a shit whether or not the gameplay itself is innovative or new either. The music and art alone is fantastic. I can tell right away that the people who put this together have a deep appreciation for setting a detailed atmospheric experience. Really refreshing to see someone virtualize this side of human imagination. No explanation for what your eyes are seeing, just a full on assault of strange bio-mechanical imagery, body horror, and wide open droning music. The cover art looks beautiful. Absolutely fucking beautiful Apparently this is their comeback after a kickstarter attempt failed. I looked it up to see https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/571331118/scorn-episode-one/description and jesus that thing really tanked. Barely got any funding. Glad they bounced back, tho. [editline]3rd July 2016[/editline] https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/571331118/scorn-episode-one/posts/1118188 awesome, they got funding from an outside source, and also pledged to give all their original backers all their original pledged rewards for free. That's pretty damn nice of them.
The trailer fills you with this sense of both wonder and dread, which is really hard to achieve

I'd have never thought I would like something so disturbing. No way I'm missing anything on this.
