Villeneuve hasn't put out a movie I haven't enjoyed yet, and it'd just be disappointing if the sequel to Blade Runner were the one to be fucked up. I'm fairly confident in his direction though, and it honestly seems like it'll be a much slower film than the trailer initially makes it out to be.
the campiness of the trailer really throws me off. seems like a generic movie trailer with some blade runner fan service. blade runner made me feel uncomfortable (in a good way) while watching it. trailer didn't even come close to hitting that vibe for me. i feel like this is going to be at least a decent film. it's in competent hands it seems. i'm skeptical if it'll even approach the legacy of the original though, but i'm cautiously optimistic.
[QUOTE=StrykerE;52204285]He also did Sicario which was excellent. He partnered with cinematographer Roger Deakins on Prisoners, Sicario, Arrival, and now Blade Runner.
