How do they think a wall will stop these huge creatures from getting in? Same for pacific rim. I don't get it.

iirc the littler titans couldn't get through it, but the bigass titan broke it and everything got ruined

It's explained in the first episode/chapter. A Titan that's larger then anything they've seen shows up and breaks the wall open for the normal Titans

hey it works out if it only focuses around the beginning / first season of aot, because after that it lost it's charm and got too run-of-the-mill anime goofy.

Using a wall to stop giant muta--giants made more sense when this was set in a vague 1500s timeline.
