So what they need to do now is figure out how to design planes so that the front of the fuselage/cockpit doesn't fold like that on impact.
Word on the street is that is by design, to reduce stress on the rest of the fuselage during such an impact. I'm probably wrong.
Did you see the amount of trauma the people are subject to inside of that fuselage though? From not only the collision but from debris/components falling from the ceiling.
I think you guys are underestimating the amount of force that is behind this.
Can someone equate an estimated amount of force you'd feel?
Because until they do that;
That looked survivable.
Darn it, watched the first part for nothing, second not available in Canada.
2 Parts for no reason. First part available in my country, the other isn't, probably just to make my life difficult.
Welcome to Germany where 50% of the videos on Youtube are blocked.
It looked like it actually helps to put your head down between your legs, the impact didn't seem to be too lethal, the real problem was the debris and bullshit flying everywhere.

I think there were two problems with the impact. Firstly, there's the forwards impact of the front of the plane striking the ground. If you're sitting up straight, this could cause your head to whiplash and almost certainly hit the seats as well; not good. Secondly, there's the vertical impact. This might be problematic if you are sitting straight up as well. If you aren't perfectly straight, it'll send your spine in all sorts of weird ways, and even if you are, there's probably going to be an incredible amount of pain as your vertebrae are smashed together.
Sitting in the brace position helps avoid those two as much as possible.
discovery channel is crashing planes and building observatories. The rest of television? honey boo boo. They are the last survivors.
Discovery should realize TV is a lost cause and come chill with the internet.
honey boo boo is made by TLC
Discovery channel owns TLC
This was also on the UK's Channel 4. Maybe it's possible to find their version somewhere if you can't watch Discovery.
I saw it on C4 when it aired. Fucking awesome.
I like this report: http://aviation-safety.net/database/record.php?id=20120427-0
0 fatalities.
I so would want to recycle that hull and turn it into a flight sim at home. At least the front end.
There's probably not much left of the canopy lol
