so they are somehow rendering videos through the snes.... jesus christ
i dont understand
I kinda expected a Valve game getting TASBot'ed, but real time video rendering with the SNES is fine too.
Watching this poor fellow on the couch yell the exact same thing at the tech guy ten times before he even does anything is just painful.
They keep fucking the audio hard too.
Okay we got video and audio coded from a pre-recorded video.
But this is ridiculous.
LIVE FEED!?
Nice to see twitch chat bored out of their minds despite all of this technical wizardry going on, 250 000 button presses per second, holy shit.

Most just think it is video editing.

one NES per audio channel, plus an SNES for the video feed itself. Adaptive pallete switching based on the (LIVE) video feed's contents. 250000 button presses per second, running on unmodified hardware driven purely by button presses.
This is incredible. I really wonder what's doing the bulk of the work here, last I saw they were using a raspi for four or eight controllers.
The person doing Dark Souls III doesn't really have a good record. I checked and he's like 14 minutes behind the best time. I guess everyone else was unavailable.
But wait, there's more!

I'd bid for the Pro/VR but I don't have that kind of money lying around for liberal expenditures.
"Our average donation is disappointingly low... let me check.. our average is $43."
Do you expect people to be made of money?
Maybe people don't want to donate to an organization that is already kinda scummy. Again, why the fuck are they doing the Prevent Cancer foundation???

the organizers are paid by PCF to run this event, they won't be switching any time soon

No, I meant 43 dollars is pretty fucking good for the average donation. Sure most are probably $5, but the few $1,000 donations hardly raise the average that much.
I'd be more willing to donate, if I had money, during SGDQ. AFAIK MSF aren't a completely shady organisation.

it has nothing to do with best time lmao
it just simply means he was the only one who submitted the game.

Bubbles is great. He did a Fallout 4 run at SGDQ that was fun. He's not the fastest runner but he's good at keeping up interesting commentary and explaining what's happening.

Oh, I didn't know it was based on submissions. I really have no idea how these are organized.
Still, tear drop run is kinda disappointing because the current competitive run is no tear drop. They patched out the glitch he uses in this run, so it feels a little disingenuous. On the flip side, at least we get to see the goofy teardrop glitches :v:
Oh wow he's messing up the Anri kill fucking hard

this and tbh i'd much rather have a runner that's engaging and is a good personality to watch than some world record holder that just says two words through the whole run.
Damn cliff boss seems pretty hard to beat.
Love those Souls games. I have to be in the right mood to play them, but when I am they're extremely hard to put down.

seeing this a whole lot
people better keep donating or this is gonna get awkward :v:

If they get someone who is great at the game but is a bad commentator it's fine as long as they get someone else to commentate while the runner focuses. I prefer a decent runner who can explain things themselves.
And the game crashed oh my god this is great
dude nice
Well that's some really bad luck...
