Man though, doing that in front of 200k+ viewers.
Geez, I wasn't really paying attention to the couch commentary and I've come back to all of this drama. In run-related news, I'm surprised that Zoast and Behemoth are so close when Zoast seemed to have a large lead.
HOLD YOUR APPLAUSE. SAVE THE ANIMALS. SILENCE.
pretty solid race. nice that nobody died this time, but fuck it's hard to top the SGDQ 2016 run. That shit was the best just for how it ended up lol. if anyone hasn't seen it yet, check it outtt
Video games are serious business guys.
100% doesn't seem nearly as fun to watch as any% runs cause there's almost no risk of failing the run
Congrats to Zoast for getting it. I feel bad for them because of what that asshat did though, it's distracted from otherwise great runs :/
This year's lineup was overall really weak compared to previous events. But there was still plenty of good runs so I guess it balanced out.
At least the Wind Waker run was pretty hype.
Nice race. All that guy had to do was say something along the lines of: "Hey excuse me, I know you're all having a good time but it's just a little distracting right now, so could you please keep it down? Thanks!" Crisis averted, they would have kept it down and it wouldn't have completely ruined the mood for the rest of the race. You can tell it was awkward for the other people on the couch too.
This year's lineup was overall really weak compared to previous events. But there was still plenty of good runs so I guess it balanced out.
we still got the first undertale speedrun in a gdq next so full hype for that
for those of you that somehow missed it https://clips.twitch.tv/gamesdonequick/GentleHerdStoneLightning
lmao what a fucking edgelord even if you believe that SGDQ staff are no fun allowed, him getting removed is totally justifed
At least the Wind Waker run was pretty hype.
I wasn't expecting a four-hour run to completely hold my attention from start to finish. To be honest Super Metroid 100% kind of becomes a blur after a while since I don't know the game back to front so it's not really my highlight of the day. [editline]15th January 2017[/editline]
we still got the first undertale speedrun in a gdq next so full hype for that
Is there anything interesting about an Undertale speedrun? The game doesn't really feel like much of a speedrun game to me.
What is the current WR for 100% Super Metroid?
What is the current WR for 100% Super Metroid?
http://www.speedrun.com/supermetroid#100 Behometh's 1h 14m 52s run
lmao what a fucking edgelord even if you believe that SGDQ staff are no fun allowed, him getting removed is totally justifed
Despite the jokes about excessive bans, if anyone deserves a ban it's that guy.
Is there anything interesting about an Undertale speedrun? Mainly the dialogue box fuckup one. I'm not sure about others.
if none of you remember, the commentator said Zoasty wanted revenge on Ivan Zoasty is first, Ivan is last, poetry
http://www.speedrun.com/supermetroid#100 Behometh's 1h 14m 52s run
That is impressive though, he overtook Zoast by quite a large margin.
if none of you remember, the commentator said Zoasty wanted revenge on Ivan Zoasty is first, Ivan is last, poetry
Ivan missing that one powerup was a painful run killer.

man i really dont understand why they needed fucking SILENCE for the last 10 ~ 15 mins of the run do they normally do that for the any%?
Assuming he would have otherwise done the run flawlessly, he lost a minimum of 2:40 on one powerup, it's really a shame.
man i really dont understand why they needed fucking SILENCE for the last 10 ~ 15 mins of the run do they normally do that for the any%?
I'm pretty sure it's because the waahs and shouting was getting pretty out of hand.
man i really dont understand why they needed fucking SILENCE for the last 10 ~ 15 mins of the run do they normally do that for the any%?
They probably wanted to make it more dramatic or something.
I'm pretty sure it's because the waahs and shouting was getting pretty out of hand.
true im just surprised that they didn't even allow a light, considerate applause for the duration, made it super stiff and awkward.
man i really dont understand why they needed fucking SILENCE for the last 10 ~ 15 mins of the run do they normally do that for the any%?
they were doing it just before the mother brain fight weren't they? it's totally possible to fuck up and die at the start of the mother brain battle and i'm pretty sure a runner died to that on a previous super metroid GDQ run, so it makes sense if that was the part they wanted silence for.
http://www.speedrun.com/supermetroid#100 Behometh's 1h 14m 52s run
Damn, they're under 2 minutes away from the world record for the category. For a public race in a charity event that's still real damn good.
You guys ready for the most unexciting run of AGDQ?
they were doing it just before the mother brain fight weren't they? it's totally possible to fuck up and die at the start of the mother brain battle and i'm pretty sure a runner died to that on a previous super metroid GDQ run, so it makes sense if that was the part they wanted silence for.
I think two of the 4 runners in last year's race died to Mother Brain and someone else died on the escape, leaving the underdog and least expected to win to come out on top over the others who got too risky.
