AGDQ 2017: Helping prevent cancer without standing in front of a moving shuttle!

I admit, when I saw Tilt 'n Rumble on the schedule, I wasn't expecting him to manhandle a Gamecube for it.
What I want to know is why there's such a disparity in visual/audio quality between monitors.
During the Megaman race, one monitor was really fucking yellow, and one of the others had ridiculously muffled sound quality.
What killed the dinosaurs.

I cannot ever justify audio balancing issues. It takes two seconds of listening to a video to find out which channel of audio needs to be bumped or lowered.
Seriously, it can't be that hard. This guy on the couch is about 10x louder than everyone else and is clipping. Sheesh.
Wow, now the Super Monkey Ball volume is suddenly waaaaay louder and is drowning everyone out. Get it together people.
Suddenly the game audio is 100x louder than it was
What the fuck are these guys doing?
audio is hopelessly fucked
It was mid fucking sentence too and not changed as well.
reADY GO
welcome to Audio issues fixed eventually 2017 brought to you by Not Powerup Audio
one day GDQ will get the audio levels right one day

That fuckin' scared me. I had my sound turned up from when it was nearly inaudible and suddenly it's like
(seriously turn your volume down)

So, as of this time, the official AGDQ YouTube channel has uploaded 13 runs/clips from the current event, but hasn't uploaded the Ape Escape 2 run (among a few others).
Pro tip, look at your levels. If one of them is blowing the fuck out then you should probably lower it.
Also they shouldn't be the same volume oh my god that's not how mixing works.

you mean the one with evidence that pvtcb was definitely 100% wearing a MAGA hat? :v:
you don't say :v:
I have a feeling the people behind AGDQ are trying to handle the AV related work as well.
Here's some more of their F- wiring job on the floor:

At least they're using CRTS?
with all of this criticism of cable management and things related, is there a cable management simulator? something that could be speed run?

why has the mic quality for the host dropped in the past 12 hours
And now, a three hour long Pokemon Emerald run.
Please think about how many games were cut from the schedule so we can play incredibly slow and boring JRPGs.
i can't wait to see incredibly "funny and spicy" meme names on this run :vs:
which means i'm not gonna watch it
there were like 5 actually good name incentives for pokemon names
but of course everyone poured their money into meme names
I doubt they even have a man running the soundboard. If they even have a proper soundboard.

God. FUCKING. DAMMIT.
I would be fired if I ran cabling like that. We would also give a refund to the client because of the god-awful mess.

eh i've been looking forward to this run, it comes at 12 am so about half way through i can just fall asleep to the sound of their voices and know i'm not missing anything good for the most part

That's how I feel whenever they do a Chrono Trigger 100% run. I absolutely love that game to death, it's my all time favorite JRPG (and one of my top fav. games)...but it's a really horrible choice for a speed run marathon. Two marathons ago I believe they spent nearly 5 hours and 40 minutes on it.
Maybe they're there so they can say that they had a run that was longer than the setup time.
there are quite a few jrpg's with really good speedruns, but they're either
a) not well-known
b) "too long" compared to the rest of the runs
c) not well-known

Your avatar just stumbled upon the AGDQ cabling job.
and for whatever reason jrpg's have a bad rep even in the general speedrunning community with some bonker critiques like, "how is it a speedrun if it takes 3+ hours?" or "how can you speedrun an rpg?"

You can still see the AE2 run if you use the VOD
