That explains the tokens. We do that in the States, too. You can't gamble money in a lot of places, but you can buy tokens and gamble tokens, then later exchange the tokens again for money. We've been doing that since the 30's. It's also illegal to buy and sell shit using gold, but there's nothing against selling your gold for its current value then using that money to buy said item. Stupid rules and laws
The machine in the video looks more complicated than the fucking space shuttle. I don't know how much they won, but every place that exchanges money for tokens that I've seen usually has a 25cent/token rate. 5500 tokens can't be all that much in Yen. Even if they were 500 Yen a piece, that's still over $4 per token, and that sounds way steep as fuck
