What is the difference between Vanilla and Long War 2?
What is the difference between Vanilla and Long War 2?
Pain and suffering.
I hear Long War 2 was also designed to be accessible to more casual players aswell but I guess we'll find out
What is the difference between Vanilla and Long War 2?
Long War 2 makes you want to gouge your eyes out from the sheer difficulty, kind of like the original long war so it stays true to that
I'm a bit confused here. Wasn't Xcom 2 directly influenced in its design by long war? What does long war 2 add other than being built off of Xcom 2?

The minimods include laser tier weapons, new classes, new enemies, "leaders", and brings back some of the second wave options like damage roulette, hidden potential and not created equally. LW2 itself also adds coilgun tier weapons, strategy layer additions like haven management. I haven't played a whole lot of it, but personally, I would call it the expansion XCOM2 doesn't have.
It also makes ADVENT aggressive in dealing with your shenanigans, like attacking rebel bases in a region that you've pestered them too much in, and with the way the new infiltration works, getting outed by enemy forces mid-infiltration means you have to ditch that mission altogether or risk fighting an extremely deadly force of enemies in a disadvantageous situation. So that's pleasant.

The strategy features look interesting but from the videos I have seen it seems they haven't rebalanced the maps for the increased troop count or fixed the bullshit involved in xcom combat
