Does the rape of Nanking get taught as anything else?
Or Belgium
It depends on how lenient the faculty is. My history teacher would show Saving Private Ryan to the Senior class every year when they covered WWII and one of my English teachers showed 300 when they started talking about Greek literature.
Yeah i had some teachers who gave no fucks and then i had some teachers who had to get Forrest Gump approved by the board to show. Like cmon :v:
Well he had trouble trying to pronounce Majapahit kingdom in south east asia
"thats just where he lives"
The History of Japan video was a lightning in a bottle crazy thing. It's the kind of thing that should've been impossible to make a follow up to in a satisfying way but holy crap did he deliver. I hope he takes it easy after this. He deserves it.
I honestly found the whole video overwhelmingly fast and couldn't enjoy it because I'm unable to follow all that's going on
Aww sweet! The anomalocaris made a cameo appearance in the video. It's my absolute favorite animal, they're adorable!

I just try hard to look at it from above, similar to how I try my best not to look at a dog's balls.
this video made me realize how much i was never taught in school
it goes from "yeah these people in river valleys are chilling" to "these smart guys with boats wanna go to North America"
this video is better than any history class ive ever taken everer
Damn, I never knew Ayutthaya Kingdom used to be a part of Khmer Kingdom.
I wasn't expecting something as obscure as Samo's kingdom, even for a fraction of a second.
I like how of all the notable historical periods of the region, this is the one that made it in.
Great Moravia? nah. Austria-Hungary? meh. Czechoslovakia? god no. Samo's Empire? fuck yeah
I didn't know the Sultan of Oman lives in Zanzibar now.

We watched Der Untergang with a substitute teacher in 8th grade or something.
I never had a history class where we didn't watch Glory every time we made it to the Civil War era.
I think I watched a home edited version of Patriot once in 5th grade

I never saw Glory in school, guess I missed out :(
My favorite part is definitely 14:52, because the jingle is too long and I just love the musical progression to make it last like 10 seconds too long.
Holy shit, I missed you Bill, please make more stuff like this
I feel like the thing inventor part is a reference to something and I'm not quite sure what it is.
9:21 was a beautifully subtle jingle

I think it's a reference to Strong AI / the Singularity. It's a bit weird to put into a history video but Bill Wurtz is kind of weird himself.
