yeah I enjoyed those games I'm just not sure why I want to buy a 3rd copy of that game with very few effective gameplay changes.
But I just mentioned the effective gameplay changes. This seems ten times more open in almost every way than Far Cry games were. And the 4 player co-op is kind of a huge addition too. Yeah the core gameplay isn't a whole lot different, even if FC is a FPS and this is a third person cover shooter, but it's a shooter, there's not a whole lot there is to be different. Besides, we still don't know how most of the structure works, we don't know if there will be radio towers, we don't know if there will be all the collectibles, we don't know if we'll be unlocking outposts. So far it seems like your goal is just finding out ways to fuck shit up for this cartel and finding out ways to fuck shit up, which is quite different from Far Cry, where you had a set of main story missions played in a specific order that were pretty guided and linear.

I look at that gameplay and I just see "Ubisoft: Tactical the game" where at least at this stage, the AI is literally brain dead(hopefully that'll improve) and the majority of the gameplay is about weird contrivances that seem aimed at making the gameplay more "dynamic" when it's really not. It's hard for me to put it into words, but they seem to be giving you options as to how you confront it, but ultimately making those options of little value. We'll see when the game actually comes out, but it's really looking like it'll be boring and bland within a few days of playing it.

Reminds me of "The Crew" when it got released and not even "The Crew" was so unpolished.
Here's 12 minutes of actual gameplay This does not look like a good game
wow you can play as kanye west also this gameplay is just as bad. the gamer banter, the intentional missing just to make the gameplay look interesting. all the weird and unfinished animations, that func_vehicle like helicopter piloting i guess this is their contingency plan for when the 1 month hype cycle of the division was over.

Reminds me of "The Crew" when it got released and not even "The Crew" was so unpolished.
It's still got almost 9 months to go until release, that's a loooooot of time for polishing. Also, this is exactly why Ubisoft polishes their demos so much. Because still with so much time to go, games never look great at that stage if you just show raw, unscripted gameplay.
I think it looks fun, but I enjoy the Division so what do I know. I will say I wish Ubisoft would learn scripted online dialogue in trailers sounds fucking terrible and forced and they should stop doing it.
I don't know why you'd say that video makes it look bad or it looks rushed. Video just looked like a bunch of uncoordinated people messing around getting used to controls and shit, rather than anything of the game's fault. [editline]boop[/editline]
also this gameplay is just as bad. the gamer banter, the intentional missing just to make the gameplay look interesting. all the weird and unfinished animations, that func_vehicle like helicopter piloting
I don't think there were any player voices anywhere in that video, that was all in game callouts, and I don't think anybody was missing on purpose to make it "look interesting" it was pretty clearly just people playing on a controller with settings they aren't used to, same for the helicopter piloting. Animations also looked fine to me but that one's up in the air compared to the others at least. v:v:v
Yeah 9 months is a long time to polish a game so hopefully the rough edges are sanded down. My bigger concern is difficulty. It seems too easy for a bunch of people who just picked it up at a press event. A higher difficulty or a hardcore-esque experience with a limited UI would be nice.
It looks like an emptier far cry 4 lmao
