To be honest it made me a bit uncomfortable when I was watching it, but then again I stopped playing multiplayer games almost entirely because I was sick of guys doing trash talk worse than this.
Should he be fired or whatever over this? No, of course not.
Should he be careful about what he says on a Nationally broadcasted presentation? Yeah probably.

Sure, it might seem a bit silly to some but not everyone reacts the same way. I didn't feel offended personally (though I did think it was really awkward and cringeworthy) but I understand how it could be taken as offensive by others.

Why is this being turned into something about women? Since males are more common on online games (as demonstrated by how many women say "the server was surprised I was a girl") then wouldn't male rape survivors be the group at most risk of being exposed to the "rape culture"? This is pretty irrelevant. He said "casual observer", he wasn't talking about people who want to shit on feminists. He was talking about people who don't have a strong opinion about the group yet. People who get worked up over things like this damage how the feminism is perceived more than r/mensrights or whatever. Just like every other extremist ever.

It doesn't matter that this sentence can be used in many situations, it's one of the things that can be said by a rapist therefore it must be a reference to rape.
