If you've seen her Twitter page, it's endless screenshots of emails sent to her, some of which certainly are transphobic. That card has been played a hundred times already. (And is also a great reminder of why you should just not harass anyone, no matter how wrong they are.)

It's not really brought up since it didn't work as the american mental health system is useless. She was committed and evaluated at an institution, but they released her because they thought there was nothing wrong. It's likely whoever was evaluating her saw "Internet", thought "oh, it's just silly drama" and just threw all that out without taking a look at just how much hot water she's in.

One of her family members had her forcibly taken for treatment but she was let out very quickly as the doctors there determined that there was nothing wrong with her to warrant forced treatment. That's why she's cut ties with her family.
Also as a side note, her twitter appears to have been removed, or she has changed her handle.

She'll face the legal consequences of her actions, nothing anybody's gonna be able to do about that (disregarding the fact that mental illness may/can play a role in court rulings).
