I would argue Alex is worse than some shitheads sending empty threats on the internet, she's actively messing with a huge swath of people's livelyhoods and attempting to delete their channels. Don't get me wrong, those people are scumbags, but they're cowards and as a result, they're powerless and intangible. The legal nightmare alex dragged everyone into is more severe than shitty messages on the internet.
Those people tend to hide and don't have a public presence, anyways, usually they only appear in games media as a scapegoat. Its a way to pretend to be a victim and shift blame away from the person whos actually doing something wrong, to an amorphous group of people (critics of alex mauer, in this case) who obviously cant refuse claims they are responsible because they individually have done nothing wrong. See gamergate for a big example of that happening.
