Lmao did she seriously fire her attorney after the restraining order was granted?
Another shot to the knee. She keeps digging herself a bigger hole.
She found the only lawyer on earth who would actually work with her and then fired them. Good job, Alex.
At this point someone could pop her in the back of the head with a gun and it'd be a more merciful fate than the possible decades of legal and financial nightmares that awaits her. She's fucked herself over to a fucking incredible degree. No one will ever hire her again in the industry. (User was banned for this post ("Terrible post" - Kiwi))
hahahaha Lawyer doing his job is "Harassment" [editline]14th July 2017[/editline] ok, I'm 10000% certain that if a lawyer doesn't basically cause everything to go her way she'll fire them again and/or blame them for all her problems I'm totally and completely certain that will happen the next time she lawyers up
We're basically witnessing someone self destruct their life.
So, River City Ransom Underground got pulled from Steam over Mauer's DMCA claims. How often do gets get taken off the storefront over DMCA?
So, River City Ransom Underground got pulled from Steam over Mauer's DMCA claims. Holy shit Mauer seems like one of the biggest narcissists I've ever seen. Nothing is her fault at all and she's the victim in everything. I don't think there's a single ounce of humility in her body.
Is this person literally targeting every single game they've ever made music for? I'm confused.
she actually took down river city ransom on steam via DMCA http://steamcommunity.com/app/422810/discussions/0/2217311444326471550/#c2217311444326498216
Is this person literally targeting every single game they've ever made music for? I'm confused.
Yeah she's extending her range of DMCA targets, which happens to allow her to bypass the restraining order. She clearly lacks foresight so I doubt that was intentional.
Is this really still going after two weeks jesus christ
Yeah she's extending her range of DMCA targets, which happens to allow her to bypass the restraining order. She clearly lacks foresight so I doubt that was intentional.
So she's targeting games and studios that have absolutely no relation to her other than that they're using her music completely legally? Is she going to accuse them now of not paying her properly? I'm so fucking lost.
So, River City Ransom Underground got pulled from Steam over Mauer's DMCA claims. And there was a game called Orion (or maybe it was Orion Prelude?) that was taken down at one point for lifting art assets from a call of duty game
So she's targeting games and studios that have absolutely no relation to her other than that they're using her music completely legally? Used to be that she ran DMCAs to try and strongarm channels into doing her legal busywork.
I hope RCR doesn't need a case over this and doesn't need enough money I have no idea what the game is personally but I know its very decently well off

6:50: "No more regular updates about this" 2 days later

not that i'm complaining, this is like watching a building implode in slow motion [editline]14th July 2017[/editline] he also clarifies himself at 2:30 in the new video, he says basically it would be wrong of him to censor himself [editline]14th July 2017[/editline] "I realized I need to not blame myself for the words and actions of people who watch my videos, and I would be doing myself and you a disservice by doing so"
I hope RCR doesn't need a case over this and doesn't need enough money I have no idea what the game is personally but I know its very decently well off
They'll most likely get bundled into this at a later stage, along with the youtubers.

what the fuck is the post this post is quoting where in sidalpha's videos did he say anything like this
she actually took down river city ransom on steam via DMCA http://steamcommunity.com/app/422810/discussions/0/2217311444326471550/#c2217311444326498216
Seriously?? Sid never brought her gender into it. Is anybody who stands against her just automatically transphobic to them or what?
Seriously?? Sid never brought her gender into it. Is anybody who stands against her just automatically transphobic to them or what?
Thats an unfortunately common tactic in some cases it seems. If your opponent is assumed a bigot, they wont afford them the benefit of the doubt. In this case it seems to have almost completely backfired and made Alex seem even more inept.
if anyone wants to help river city ransom during their time off on steam, they have their game up on gog.com https://www.gog.com/game/river_city_ransom_underground
I hope this bullshit leads to the overturning of the DMCA There's no way that she can possibly pay back all of the money she'll owe after being sued by fucking everyone. Every company she's gone after will lose money from lawyer fees that they can't possibly get back from her.
I hope this bullshit leads to the overturning of the DMCA
Some small town nonsense like this isn't going to do it. However, if this leads to waves of other people abusing it across many platforms, not just YouTube, then you could see that it eventually getting there. But that would take a while. And it would be pretty much awful for most people until then. And it wouldn't even be 'overturned,' it would just be revised.
I don't know, fucking with companies like valve and adult swim could do something.
Warner Brothers probably wants a stricter version of the DMCA, so I doubt they would campaign for its removal.
Warner Brothers probably wants a stricter version of the DMCA, so I doubt they would campaign for its removal.
considering this is a company that DMCA's their own content on their own site that's fucking hilarious

yikes
Some digging around twitter revealed a rumor that the game was taken down by composer Alex Mauer, who reportedly worked on some of its music. When asked for comment, Ms. Mauer confirmed that she had issued the DMCA orders, stating 'Conatus [River City Ransom: Underground's developers] never got my written permission to use my music in the game. As far as I know, they have Disasterpeace's [one of the game's composers] signature and are trying to act like that alone is enough to have secured rights.' Unfortunately, not everyone has been so empathetic. Since word got out that Ms. Mauer had issued the DMCA orders against the two games, a sadistic feeding frenzy has formed in certain pockets of the internet, leading to Ms. Mauer receiving multiple online death threats, and ambulance chasing, opportunistic video game pundits demonizing her in long winded, fruitless Youtube rants.
