With the exception of the whole rape debacle on Reddit, why does most people on FP seem to dislike The Amazing Atheist?
Not trying to defend him or whatever, I'm just genuinely curious.
He just comes off as very full of himself and anyone who has an opinion different from his about anything should be euthanized.
Not a single Banana related comment? Wow.
The Banana incident is nothing compared to the Oil incident. Dude is fucking weird

He has many controversial opinions that some would argue go a bit too far, or in some cases flat out over the line. (The rape debacle being the foremost example of the latter.)
Oh, and the Banana/Oil thing made a whole bunch of people get out their high horses and discredit everything he'd ever said because FP can be dumb and impulsive like that.
Wasn't there some sort of quote about the affairs of kings and the advice of jokers?
Might not be. It was something I read when I was little I think.
Probably has to do with him not supporting Kick Ass 2 due to Sandy Hook.

And him being anti vaccine

If Jim Carrey wasn't nuts I'd be downright disappointed

hes a plagiarist and the worst kind of demagogue who only wants to fling his books
hes a plagiarist
Really? What has he plagiarized?
But I like Jim Carrey
Really? What has he plagiarized?
all of his strong arguments are plagiarized from authors far smarter than him but he knows most of the people who subscribe to his views would never read letters to a christian nation, god is not great, or even the god delusion because they just want the instant feel good youtube fix
the arguments that he doesnt steal are weak and are filled with his spiteful and disgusting brand of misanthropy that he's so proud of

That's really pathetic. Also does anybody really buy his books? Is there that much of a demand for them that he keeps writing or is he just throwing things at the wall in hopes that one of them sticks?
I didn't mind the Kick Ass 2 thing. He starred in the movie and it's already out so it's kind of silly to expect him to just return his salary for it, but maybe he does genuinely, personally feel like after a horrible tragedy involving guns that he doesn't want to be attached to projects depicting that kind of stuff. I disagree with the implication that violent movies correlate to violence in real life, but it's not necessarily a dangerous viewpoint to have.
Learning that he was anti-vaccination though was a huge blow. It's the worst kind of pseudo-medicine and to see such a well-known and successful actor stand up for it is actually genuinely dangerous. Really disappointed when I learned that.

idk all i know is its the only way he can support himself
that and stealing money from people
Kincaid is an e-beggar[29][30]; and some of his e-begging campaigns have been widely deemed scams.[31] A few of Kincaid's most prominent supposed scams will be outlined in this section.
In 2008 Kincaid made many YouTube videos in which he asked for money for a roadtrip during which he would meet and interview many famous atheists and creationists, and then edit the interviews into a documentary. He took thousands of dollars in donations over several months, yet the trip never materialized. Kincaid has outright denied memory[32] of plans for this road-trip; however, a Myspace page still exists[33] which includes now-deleted embedded videos about the roadtrip, a manifesto, donation buttons, and a photoshoot and various banners.
In 2009 Kincaid ran a donation campaign for a planned website called FreeSpeechVids, which was to compete with YouTube and its supposed tight regulations. This site did materalize, although only briefly, and well below the capacity that was promised. A BlogTV session was held in order to campaign for money for the site. In this session people were kicked out of the room for donating but not quite donating an amount Kincaid deemed enough; and one of Kincaid's friends threatened to cut himself with a knife (shortly after threatening to shoot himself, holding a gun to Kincaid's head, and shortly before actually cutting himself on camera) unless more donations were given[34]. Upon the closure of the site, Kincaid called all its members "fags"[35] and made no attempt to refund donation money. In fact, a developer of the site, LodeRunner, accused Kincaid of misappropriating the donation money[36]. Kincaid's best friend at the time also declared that he had misappropriated the donations[37].
In August 2011 Kincaid reported he had started work on a project called Not Productive, funded by various "contributers" and that it was due to launch later that month.[38] In early 2012 Kincaid started a big donation drive, explaining that the idea was to bring to light quality videomakers that get "buried under all the YouTube crap".[39]. The site was to host its videos on Blip or YouTube, and the comments on Facebook. Kincaid set a donation goal of $20,000, in the end taking over $17,000. In January 2013, one year and a half from the site's planned launch date, the site became publicly accessible for approximately two weeks. However, it was plagued with various glitches, was very basic in design, and Kincaid had not acquired any dedicated "talent". As of June 2013, almost two years past the site's initial planned launch date, the site is not up in any capacity. However, it is said to be launching soon as a YouTube channel[40], although no "talent" has yet been drafted. Many ask where the $17+ thousand from the main donation drive (in addition to the unknown amount received from initial contributers) has gone and why it has taken Kincaid so long to show anything.
Don't fucking watch it then.
Can we get a rule on this section where if you don't watch the video, you get banned? It should be treated like not reading the article in Sensational Headlines. Please.
Can you please stop asking people to be banned when they're expressing dislike towards the content of said thread?
I've watched the video, I still consider him an idiot. This has nothing to do with people not watching the video, this has everything to do with the person who is in the video. Your SH analogy is frankly retarded and is off-base. You've said the exact same thing in the Total Biscuit thread.
who cares what he believes. he's a great actor.
who cares what he believes. he's a great actor.
Because actors have a large influence over their fans and can sway them certain ways.

Are you trying to be sarcastic because what you just said is true.
Are you trying to be sarcastic because what you just said is true.
No, I was serious.
Oh okay.
just to clarify, i didn't post this because i like the oily banana atheist. i posted it because i dislike jim carrey. and steamed vegetables.
I'm curious but I don't want to give him views
This is probably the right attitude to have. Youtube has an annoying habit of rewarding trolls.
remember how he acted when that girl in BC committed suicide? haha yeah no literally the worst person on earth

I said the same thing in the Angry Joe thread because idiots go in there and say "not watching, hate this douche", "review too long, not watching". People are doing the same thing here.
Also my SH comparison is spot on because SH is about discussing the article. This section is meant for the discussion of the video attached on the first post. If you don't watch it, you have no right to participating in the discussion. Want to talk about how shitty TAA is? Fuck off to the YouTube comment section.
