i just wish they would update CoD 2 with prettier graphics and the newer engine without this killstreak bullshit give me carentannnnnnnn
cod2 rereleased now with perks, ranks, exactly the same gameplay as mw1/2/3, graphics look the same, 15$ to unlock 3 maps you'd have in the original. 20$ unlock everything. All the guns are now completely unbalanced and already good players can take advantage and become unbeatable. Regenerative health. Elite for 70$. They put a sales ban on the old cod2. uses mw1 animations and guns but just renamed and remodeled, and 2007 graphics. it's renamed CoD 2: HD Fan boys say it looks amazing and it gets a perfect 10/10 score from IGN saying it's a revolution of modern gaming, absolutely unprecedented. Someone tells you that it shits on anything Valve has made and that only a faggot would play CSS/tf2, who has never even played a single Valve game. Yeah, umm, lets not let them fucking touch anything, please.
and yet games can still easily have rag-dolls to day. IMHO it seriously makes the devs look very lazy. [editline]2nd November 2012[/editline] SO DRAMATIC ooooo
I'm going to admit shamelessly that when Shepard kills you in mw2 I was just like WHAT THE FUCK NO, and that music is just great Probably the only mission I truly enjoyed
Looks like they prettied up the blood particles.
First thing I noticed was... colors. Everything in the map seemed brighter, more colorful. I honestly can't really say I don't like it.
They'll release it free DLC in 2 months, calling it.
Free DLC my ass. I can see them making you pay $5 for it more then giving it for free.
Even though it's pre-order,which is retarded, I think the map itself is great. Based on a popular map, but totally redesigned visual. Everything is colourful and bright. It easy to see enemies and there's nothing to say against it. If it was in the game itself minus pre-order I'd be loving it.
To be honest, I can't understand why anyone would get annoyed by a game. You might want the series to die, but obviously, there are people out there who enjoy the game. It's a successful franchise. I know THIS next thing gets said to everyone who's completely against Call of Duty but basically, if YOU don't like it, then don't buy it. Simple as. Some people might not like your favourite game either, that's just how things go.

I don't mind the games myself- I stopped enjoying anything in them except Nazi Zombies since Blops- but CoD showed devs that they can appeal to a 13-year-old demographic and provide less and less real content as long as you just keep using the same general formula, essentially hindering any sort of incentive to update graphics, engines, and eventually hardware- and that consistently providing 6-hour campaigns with emphasis on play-to-win, and not skill-to-win, multiplayer services that continuously yank money out of their playerbase for the most insignificant variety provide more income from shallow gamers, who now make up the majority of the market thanks to games like there- than a game whose devs have created something interesting and unique, or at least put enough effort to create something that you can keep playing for an extended period and still have variety, new content, and interesting features, without extorting your audience. Essentially what I'm saying is that it's really fine to enjoy CoD-type games, but it's created a problem for the gaming market, where it brought in an audience that is completely separate from the previous gamer audience, and then appealed only to them, therefore bringing more in. And because this audience is content with sub-par everything, then they continue to appeal to it so they have to put the lowest amount of effort in for a maximized profit. [editline]2nd November 2012[/editline]
Treyarch, Infinity Ward. What's the difference? Game still comes out once a year with minimal improvements.
The quality of Treyarch's campaigns is greater in my opinion. I enjoyed WaW and Blops even though they didn't offer anything new otherwise.
Treyarch, Infinity Ward. What's the difference? Game still comes out once a year with minimal improvements.
Black Ops had dedicated servers and was far better balanced than any other CoD title including CoD4. If they had toned down killstreaks it probably would have been one of the most balanced FPS I've played ever.
I thought the Blops campaign was really mediocre, the best part was all of the sci-fi stuff.
Black Ops 2. Taking reskinning and selling it as a different game to the next level.
CoD 4 will still stay as one of the most balanced CoD games in my opinion. It didn't have ridiculous killstreaks and you could get good weapons at an early level. The maps were also pretty good.
Weapon balance was okay (P90 though, eugh) but perk balance was terrible. In their defense it was their first crack at it but things like 3x frags, juggernaut, stopping power, and martyrdom were just not very fun. Looking back, I think I prefer CoD2 to CoD4. [editline]2nd November 2012[/editline] I agree with killstreaks being dumb now though, probably the worst change in the series yet. CoD4 had them perfect: UAVs kept the fights mobile, bombing runs cleared out stubborn campers which were a HUGE problem in CoD2, and the chopper, while annoying to fight, wasn't ridiculously powerful.

You really dont have to aim at all for most every kill with it.
;38288224']-longpost-
To add, they're treating a game like a businessmen, not like artists and developers. [editline]2nd November 2012[/editline]
Black Ops 2.
every thread
I thought it was common sense that a person has to go through a game looking for death animations present in older games and deem it a failure if it does have them. Death animations are serious business mister!
blops 2 seems to have cool new features but something tells me a lot of the shits just going to still be a huge gimmick.
So did blops 1 and mw3 but they are both reskinned mw2 with new weapons, maps, killstreaks and gamemodes that barely any people play. Those games are more like expansions than actual new games. What's with the disagrees? Just look at DLCs to BF3 (it's an example don't make it cod vs bf). New gamemodes, weapons, vechicles, all that's lacking is reskinning old weapons and playermodels and activision would sell it as BF4 and 5. Battlefield's DLCs do pretty much what blops1 and MW3 does to MW2.
If it was $10 I'd buy it tbh
FUN IS BAAAD!
I love how they take something the community likes and run with it for as long as they can. People liked Modern Warfare? They have already "announced" MW4. People liked the map Nuketown? 24/7 Nuketown weeks and a revamp of the map in the next game.
Why is it so awful that they give you an extra playable area for pre-ordering a game? You people act as if it's going to kill your dog.
FUN IS BAAAD!
you just summed up the main argument of twelve year olds across the world great job
you just summed up the main argument of twelve year olds across the world great job
What? What is the huge fucking deal that people have fun with video games. It doesn't make them immediately adolescent children, nor does it make them "sheep". I had a fairly good experience with the first Black Ops, so I'm somewhat excited for the sequel, that looks far different from the Modern Warfare series.
help the kids in school like games i dont!!

You are not getting more if you preorder. You are getting less if you don't. You are BANNED from this map if you don't preorder. A map with c-c-color? jesus christ
Say what you will Facepunch, but the killstreaks and all that jazz make it a fun game to casually play, maybe not worth 60$ at start but hey if people feel that it's worth that then it's their loss. I wanted change and this looks enough for now. You've gotta realise that if they changed it super drastically, then it'd be no fun as they'd ruin the formula they've got going on right now. Assassin's Creed III is the same, except done even better. They've changed the setting and new stuff and even bigger and all that jazz but the same core elements that made it enjoyable are still there, else it'd no longer be an Assassin's Creed game. However the people arguing about the pre-order stuff being bullshit are totally right, and this is an issue that plauges most games and needs to die hard. ACIII also does this however it seems there's less commotion about it, probably because no-ones bandwagoning the game.
Still going to buy it.

Battlefield, sims, simcity, diablo, total war, they've been all doing it. The formula stayed the pretty much the same, but it wasn't the same game. This is about releasing the same game with new maps, sounds, textures and killstreaks over and over again.

It's because they found a formula that works. If you don't like CoD, and none of your friends like CoD, that's okay. Go play something else. Stop coming to CoD threads and telling people who do enjoy CoD that they are dumb sheep buying reskins over and over. Go play your reskinned Assassins Creed, Uncharted, Halo, or Battlefield game.
I'm not going to lie. I love the theme they gave it this time.
