Wow. The way he just calmly opens the cockpit after he crash lands. "Honey, I'm home!"
It wasn't a crash landing, that's just how he gets back from work
If I was riding my bike and saw a fucking plane do something like that right on the street I was on, I would freak the fuck out
A garbageman comes around and fines the house extra for hauling it away
fuck you pilot, really dick move
I'm scared to see the cropped out part of your avatar.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't mountains and other such things cause updrafts?
Yes, they do.
as a player of fsx, yes.
You're an idiot.
Mountain ridges, peaks and even bowls cause updrafts of air. Gliders use this air to soar and gain height. FSX is accurate in this regard.
"Mom, a crash-landing glider rammed the trash cans again!"
Yes, they do.

He said that yes they do, how does that make him an idiot?
He was right....
I would have shit my pants 10 times.
guy must have felt fuckin awesome when he popped out of the cockpit unscathed
Would've been a mess if someone were walking down the road. I love how he instantly opens the cockpit to get out, reminds me of an average game of San Andreas.
would you really just sit inside something (probably incredibly fragile) you just botched a landing in?
[editline]14th July 2012[/editline]
either that or the guy did pull a GTA and instantly jumped from the cockpit, hijacked a car, went back to his safehouse and took a nap.
And everything went better than expected.
From the NTSB report
NTSB Identification: WPR12CA072
14 CFR Part 91: General Aviation
Accident occurred Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in Murrieta, CA
Probable Cause Approval Date: 03/27/2012
Aircraft: SCHWEIZER SGS 1-26B, registration: N8641R
Injuries: 1 Uninjured.
During a solo instructional glider flight, the student pilot released from the tow airplane at a planned altitude of 4,250 feet mean sea level. Upon the release, the student pilot was not able to locate any up-currents, and the sink rates the glider encountered varied between 200 to 600 feet per minute. The pilot stated that there was insufficient lift to clear the ridge safely and glide back to the airport, so he selected two open fields for a possible off-field landing. The pilot stated that, on final approach to the field, he observed signs between the glider’s current position and the intended landing site that he had not seen during his fly-by inspection. He maneuvered around the obstructions and decided to land on a road. The glider landed on the road, and the right wing collided with a previously unseen mailbox post, which resulted in substantial damage to the wing.
The National Transportation Safety Board determines the probable cause(s) of this accident as follows:
The glider's encounter with insufficient atmospheric lift to maintain soaring flight.
I knew it looked like California.
oh hey that was smoother than i expecte- oh god trashcans

yeah people have been against it lately with 9/11 and all.
That has to be scary, knowing that you have to land yet all you see is hills, trees and houses, he got lucky he found a nice long road to land on.
Where's Jaanus when you need him, he flies these things.
Why is there bam magera and the dudesons drinking hot wax in the related videos? :D
After rewatching this video I realized the split second choices involved in this. The moment he decided to turn around and land was crucial.
R.I.P Trash Can
